For the Ambient Tutorials tier and up!

I get asked quite often how do I get "That Sound" and if you don't know what I'm talking about, you need to watch this video! One of the ways that I'm able to achieve this sound is through careful consideration of my filter positioning in every track. Another way is by using a variety of "Multi Effects" to get the desired result.

In this video we're going to put a bunch of effects back to back to see which one is the best, we're also going to discuss "That Sound" and how to get it..

Which one was the best? Let me know in the comments below!

Love the tip about how important it js to pay attention to filter positioning…. it seems basic, but when you consider your delays, reverbs, even distortion for that matter, it all adds up! And cool to see LOVE getting some love 😂 Such a cool effect

Damn that first one, that complete chain pulls me into the abyss 😭😭

I was re-watching again this evening, and I have a quick question, Chris! If you go back to the beginning of the video at around 0:45 when you first play the pluck. There's a bit of delay and reverb... what reverb are you using? I don't think it's the Serum one....is that Supermassive or Valhalla room? Or Pro-R2 or Blackhole immersive? SO many reverbs!!!!! :-)

All are great. Of the multi-fx showcased here BEAM is my favorite. One additional free multi-effect I've been playing with along these lines, and worth a mention is Spacer by Spectral Plugins. https://spectral-plugins.com/ Standard Reverb, Convolution Reverb, Grain Reverb, Standard Delay and Grain Delay (one instance of each), all of which can be moved around in any order, or turned on/off, to taste, and then with an optional chorus and utility module on the end of the chain. Another one is Transit by Baby Audio. Beyond its obvious/intended use as a transition-fx tool, it is actually also a very powerful, straight up multi-fx unit in its own right. Again, multiple possible fx (one instance of each) that can be stacked in any desired order (and in this case, interesting results can be acheived by slightly modulating the "T" knob to put motion into the fx).
