Auxiliary modulation or "side chain" modulation is extremely powerful not only for sound design but to enable more expressiveness in your playing. However, as a beginner or as someone who doesn't design their own presets, it can be difficult to understand.

That's where I come in!

In this tutorial, I explain exactly what auxiliary modulation is, how to use it, and how to get the most out of it in your own productions. I wanted to make this tutorial as accessible as possible so I made examples for four different synths, both free and paid.
