Coming Next Week: Patreon Pack 6 - Glitches & Electricity (Patreon)

Coming next week on Patreon!

I know a lot of you really love those extra "glitches" found in many S1gns Of L1fe tracks and albums on Synphaera and exosphere. Lately I've been obsessed with creating the sounds of glitches and electricity from scratch using synthesis and effects. Challenging yourself to create sounds like this can be a really fun exercise in sound design and format for experimentation. Also - thinking outside the box and trying new things.

These sounds were all created using a variety of techniques. Notably using the "vinyl distortion" in Ableton to create a raw "vinyl crackle" sound, sampling that, and then placing it into a granular synth (I used "Quanta") and playing with the mod matrix until the sound of electricity appeared. Another technique I used was sampling upper harmonic wavetables in vital and then running that through various effects to create "static" and then using Triad to mangle it further. I'm going to tidy up a few things and normalize the audio this weekend and then ship them to you next week as a Patreon Exclusive! Just to note: these are not "presets" these will be 24 bit .wav files. You can use them any way you like, drop them in any track or drop them in a granular sampler of your own and experiment further.

Have a great weekend you guys and thank you for joining me here on Patreon!

Cheers,

Chris | S1gns Of L1fe
