As promised, here is Part 2 of the Deep Space Ambient tutorial series.

In part 2, I wanted to shed some light on some important topics that I feel might be lacking in your arsenal to help you take your Deep Space Ambient to the next level. First up, modulation. Using tasteful amounts of modulation can be one of the best ways to open up your piece and in this video you'll see me recreate an "LFO Cluster" using multiple LFOs to create some powerful modulation on plucks, bass, and pads.

The second thing I wanted to cover was frequencies, and how to watch for certain resonant frequencies and why it's so important to use all of the frequency spectrum. Finally, I wanted to go over a topic that I feel is so necessary to learn which is removing certain notes to make your melodies even more powerful and remove density from certain sequences. By using the "Selection Filter" I'm able to make some unpredictable yet spacious melodies and really take my sequence to an entire different place, yet still feel grounded and expansive.
