Let's get some vibe and energy into those tracks of yours!

I'm seeing a recent trend of tracks that don't have enough vibe and energy, so I thought I'd stop what I was doing and record a quick tutorial to try and help those of you who are stuck or need a little "boost" with your own tracks.

Getting the right vibe is key to making good music. It doesn't matter how good you are at sound design or arrangement, but the mood and the vibe is everything. Get that right and you'll be well on your way to reaching your musical goals.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,

Thanks Chris, and that's a great-sounding pad. Particularly valued your comments about compression, which I tend to be a bit nervous around: simple and to the point as always!

Thanks Chris, sounds great. any reason you like Span over izotope Insight or the spectrum frequency analyzer in Ableton?

Leonidas

Serum is such a versatile synth. I'm going to stick with your advice Chris! I'm only going to start off with the two synths I already know more or less (Serum & Omnisphere) and learn them inside and out before I take on Vital and everything else. Even the sound design possibilities within Ableton in addition to those two synths are worth diving deeper into.

That's a great video, Chris. Thank you. I think I'm on the right track in terms of sound design. Your videos reaffirm that belief. I can't wait for that arrangement video. I make drone ambient pre-dominantly and find the arrangement aspect particularly difficult as the genre lacks any sort of apparent structure. Having made beats driven music for years, I find that really challenging.
