Back again with more Omnisphere 2!

The topic of layering is such an important one so in this tutorial, I attempt to address this as well as show you guys how to make a drone from scratch using a few simple ingredients. PaulXStretch is free and is well suited for your melodic drone and then you can layer washes of granular sound or whatever else you choose right on top using the power of layers, plugins and effects.

What's your favorite way to layer synths in your tracks? Let me know in the comments down below! Hopefully you enjoy this one...

So good! Great tip about what kinds of sounds work best in PauXStretch as I tended to add pads and then got stuff I found not super usable

Hi Chris, For some unknown reason, Iam not able to play this video/watch it on Patreon. It stops exactly at 1.21 mins. Tried different browser and device, seems like some weird issue. Can you please do more uploads on youtube? Thank you.

Leonidas

This was a VERY good tutorial. More Omnisphere please!!!!!!

Very good video Chris. I fully support more tutorials with Omnisphere.

BTW: the trick with Paulxstretch works well with the simple Ableton wavetable as well. Of course more to do as Wt dont have that much functions like vital or Omni, but it works as well.

Is anyone whos PaulXStretch won't play any sound after click play?

I really appreciate your Omnisphere tutorials, especially how you take it from the ground up, one voice/layer at a time to just what you want/need. Also, just watching you navigate its "user interface." I love the sounds Omni makes, but its layout is so non-intuitive, byzantine and menu divey, that it really helps to see something so basic, like, "oh!! so that's how I get two voices in Omni to have the same amp/mod envelope!" In any other synth? hover over the envelope in question, drag and drop it wherever you want. done. In Omni? A very simple and obvious (not), six step process(!). click over here to go to this voice, now hover over the envelope and right click to find the hidden drop down menu, now click copy this envelope, now, after you do all of that, click over there to go this other voice, now hover over the same envelope on that voice and right click for the drop down menu, click paste. :D
