For the Ambient Presets tier and up!

When it comes to sound design, I cannot stress the importance of learning the basics early so you can get a better handle on more complex concepts in production later. I truly believe that learning the fundamentals of sound design not only builds confidence, but a more comprehensive understanding of music in general. That said, I hope that this tutorial, created for the beginning producer, helps you learn some of these essential techniques so you can move forward on your own production journey.

Are you loving Pigments 5? Let me know what you think of this tutorial in the comments below! Oh and one more thing: as a special bonus - here is the patch that I created in this tutorial!

Really enjoyed this one. Great Strat for a Pigments 5 Newbie - More episodes like this please! Thanks Chris

Oddly enough, the sample slots on Engine 3 are not drag-and-drop enabled. But the samples have characteristic filenames, it's easy to find where the files reside on your disk, and that's where you can place your own custom samples. Those who are following this, I wonder what finishing touches you're adding. I've added a tremolo via modwheel and glide via aftertouch (a bit weird, that one, but its something I've never tried before and I'm liking it right now :-))

Over and above the drone tutorial, this has been an excellent intro to Pigments which I just bought in the sale, so your timing is bang on. Echoing Jim Baker above, yes please to more on Pigments - with Stepic would be even better :)

Great video Chris. Gives inspiration and confidence to actually dive into Pigments instead of relying on presets. Thank you for sharing.

The content and pacing of this tutorial was excellent. I didn't struggle to follow and the explanations were super helpful. I've done a number of your lower tier Vital tutorials and felt this one filled in a lot of questions. And yes, more please.
