For the next EPL, I'm asking you to pick between five progressive rock albums that are all on the master list. I'm interested in all of these, and I need your help in prioritizing the one to listen to first!

This poll is active through Monday. Happy voting!

Eric Warner

Oh my. Tough choice between Spock’s Beard and Gentle Giant! I wish I could vote for both!

Adam Henton

I don't know any of these bands. Can I recommend Beyond Creation - Omnipresent Perception. I know the vocals aren't Doug's favorite but I have been dying to see him listen to technical death metal and break down the playing, taping and bass solos. Please please 🥺 https://youtu.be/v0MkJtI3FvU?si=OBd6jt099TM2Lh6w

Einaras Sipavičius

For Godbluff again!!! This time it has more chances, but still it needs votes from every VdGG fan, basically.

Eirik Morken

Ok guys, this is your chance: I have been waiting for Snow since the EPL started. What an album this is. My desert island choice, without doubt. Some of Neal's best songwriting, easily digestable. Come onnnnnnnn!! 🙏🙏🙏

Si

Come on Geese!

George Davis-Stewart

I've tried to get on with VdGG over the years, I have one or two pleasing pieces of music by Camel in my hoarding, I think I have AP's earliest album in my vinyl collection (but no active turntable), GG failed their audition very early on, and I find no affinity with Dr. Spock. So no vote to offer this time out, sorry.

Trevor Cotterell

Not my favourite albums of any of those five bands; to my mind they've all done far better! Never mind.

Gary Thobaben

Alright. I prefer V over Snow for sure. But. Neal-era SB is so good. Let’s gooooooo.

Ralph Darvill

Some great choices there. I went for VDGG's amazing, but intense Godbluff...for me a timeless recording of the band at their peak.

Bill C

Love seeing the early support for Snow, fingers crossed that it holds.

mike.cats.guns

I will make extra accounts and buy Snow into the winning position if I have to.

Christopher Arters (relative timeworx - Mr.A)

Snow marked the end of an era. Just as Spock's Beard was about to make a big leap, Neal checked out. He has certainly been prolific since, but in my humble opinion, early Spock's and the first Transatlantic was his pinnacle. Snow feels like a conclusion.

Adie

I voted for The Power and the Glory because it's my favorite GG album. I think it's completely underrated, and has the best band sound they ever had!

Margaret Barnes

Doug, you really should have thrown some Wailin’ Jennys in there. Just to mix it up. 🤭

Les Mable

VDGG for me - the band were my introduction to buying vinyl in the early 70s.

Guitar Channel

Voted for Camel since it's in 2nd place, and Gentle Giant is too far behind. I liked the Spock's Beard I've heard; at least, for newer progressive. Although SB has a little too much metal guitar/drum flash for my taste, their writing is decent.
