Here's the recording of our latest Doug on Demand session. We heard quite a few harder edged tunes in this session. And all the titles were worthy and wonderful selections. Anytime there are multiple songs with bagpipes, you know it's a party! Remember, Doug's Angels and Council of Dougs members are invited to actively participate in these sessions. Come join the fun!

Music includes:

Galactic Cowboys - I'm Not Amused

Uriah Heep - Pilgrim

BabyMetal - Syncopation

Roy Wood - Going Down the Road

Barren Earth - On Lonely Towers

Kevin Gilbert - Shadow Self

10cc - Art for Art's Sake

Judee Sill - The Donor

Peatbog Faeries - Folk Police

Sky Cries Mary - Queen of Slug Theater

Good to finally see 10cc, one of the great art rock bands. And Roy Wood is an incredible multi-instrunentalist talent.

Christopher Arters (relative timeworx - Mr.A)

Terribly sorry I missed the party... last minute could not avoid distraction. Very happy to hear you all found some appreciation for Kevin Gilbert. This version of Shadow Self is actually only available on a special edition. For a bit of a look into Kevin, here's a link to one of the most moving obituaries I've ever read. https://www.salon.com/1996/05/27/cintra_31/ And for a deeper dive... https://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/more-than-the-piano-player-dumped-by-sheryl-2966770.php

So glad y'all did the Judee Sill track! That song is some heavy medicine.

This one has some great music, and I always appreciate that Doug provides this opportunity to hear something we haven't heard before. Getting picked on the first spin of the wheel feels kinda like when your suitcase is the first bag on the carousel at the airport baggage claim! Houston has an interesting music scene, so maybe I'll provide more samplings in future DoD sessions.

Martin Broten

Love babymetal. They've got a lot of great stuff on You Tube. "Monochrome" live at the PIA arena is definitely worth a watch.

Andrew Marsh

Glad everyone liked the Sky Cries Mary song. Been a champion of this underrated group since the late 90s. It was very interesting while I checked the chat while it played about the music SCM reminded them of. Beatles, U2, Peter Gabiel, Ozric Tentacles, and Jane's Addiction. Always said SCM was diverse. Would love to submit the piece, 4:00 AM for the Extended Favorites. I set the music to my artwork on You Tube. Just a sublime 14 min piece of psychedelic bliss!
