For the next Extended Play Lounge, I'm eager to hear another Queen album. We've previously heard A Night at the Opera here as an EPL, and we've heard Queen 2 on YouTube. In this poll, News of the World and Sheer Heart Attack are from the Master List, and the other three are albums that I'm quite interested in as well.

Help me decide! Pick your preferred Queen album for this next EPL episode.

All must listens, but it’s always good to hear their evolution. A Night at the Opera and Day of the Races were a distinct era, and it’s worth hearing both before News of the World.

Because you did Night at the Opera first, then Day at the Races really must follow. I think it it were me deciding I'd have done them in order, but as you didn't, the order should be something like Day at the Races, News of the World, then back to Sheer Heart Attack, then A Kind of Magic and Innuendo. NATO/DATR/NOTW are really a trilogy as the whole thing is very similiar. The others are more individual.

Tough choice. While I’d like the group to discuss DATR I’m going with my first Queen tour I attended and go with News of the World. This is what I think as the transition album going from rock to pop Queen.

The Works is great too, but for this poll Sheer Heart Attack just pips my vote over A Day at the Races. Both great albums though👍

I'm disappointed that News of the World isn't doing better. "Ya gotta fight from the inside..."

Oof, that's the toughest choice yet since I've been here. No matter which one wins, it will be a great episode. That said, honestly, from these 5 choices, the one leading right now would be my least choice. Just a matter of preference, still a great album but I'd like to hear the others discussed first. Then again, I'm sure the other ones will get their chance eventually, so I'm OK with starting with e "lesser" choice.

So torn between Sheer Heart Attack and Innuendo! Both amazing for completely different reasons. I am sort of sad to see Innuendo back in 3rd or 4th place. It's so wonderfully varied and creative, and even more special given Freddie's health at the time. But I'm fine with Sheer Heart Attack should it win. Probably the strongest song-for-song Queen album.

Sheer Heart Attack was the band's peak as a 'rock band' IMHO. Sure, their biggest commercial success came later, but for my money, the first three Queen albums were the beginning of progressive metal. A level of creative genius that has never been surpassed. On my all time greatest album list, I rank SHA at #3, behind only The Beatles Revolver and Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
