For this next EPL, I'm going with what I expect to be a very competitive group of albums. All of these albums are among our highest upvoted/supported submissions. I've heard a bit from all of them...but none of them from front to back. Pick your favorite! Happy Voting!

Hard choice!

BRIAN MILLER

I voted for Jethro Tull, and hope that one wins. But for what it's worth, the only time I saw a concert billed as "Pink Floyd" was in 1994 on the tour supporting the Division Bell album release. But I prefer their 1970s albums that you have already delved into before. Songs from the Wood is from 1977, the same year as Animals.

Ruth James

Genesis, as my favourite band, will probably always get my vote but some great competition here too, so whichever wins I look forward to watching it

Matthew Hackbert

this was one of the toughest choices for EPL lately, even harder than the Queen poll.

Prog Rock Piano Bar

I didn't realize that TotT hadn't even been done. That's quite an egregious omission from the EPL catalog!!! Rick Beato did Dance on a Volcano at one point. I'm looking forward to hearing your take on the the whole album. Also, remember that Youtuber ElektrikHob has piano transcriptions of a lot of the Genesis songs that are more complete and accurate than sheet music. I remember the day I found the transcriptions for the middle sections of Mad Man Moon and Ripples. That was an incredibly happy day in my life, as I'd been putting off learning them by ear for years!

Blinky

Sadly, I cannot vote for all of them, but at least I won't be disappointed no matter what wins. These are all phenomenal records

Rebecca Walsh

I have the Genesis "Trick of the Tail" vinyl record and its a really fun listen...that being said, you have covered quite a bit of it already?

Oliver Kogler Kommunikata

Could vote for any of them - but: i am looking forward to hearing your comments on the Trick of the tail, Doug! It is a an incredible wondeful album - text and music! 🤩🖖

Richard Moore

My top three choices are at the bottom of the poll rignt now.

Steve Hartke

Sadly, Jethro Tull is getting very little love, and all the Genesis heads are in…

Ralph Darvill

My second favourite Tull album is there...but I want to see Doug's analysis of Trick, because it is a very musical album.

Scott Sinner

Octopus was my introduction to GG. Always loved it for that reason.

Guitar Channel

I voted for Gentle Giant, but like all these albums. If ELP wins, I have a score for Tank if you want it, Doug? The Barbarian includes a section in the middle which comes from a Bartok piano piece, I believe. (I forget which one.)

Mark J Moerman

All terrific albums, but it's way past time for you to hear Trick of the Tail!

Bill Brinkmoeller

Trick of the Tail is a significant album and I really want Doug to get to it. But Octopus is an album he NEEDS to hear! Please give Gentle Giant some love, folks!

Andrew Marsh

Been wanting Doug to cover all of Trick of the Tail for a long time. It is one of my top favorite Genesis albums. I was thrilled when I watched the Behind the Score for Mad Man Moon. Doug is going to flip when he analyzes Dance On A Volcano.

Chris Gadsby

Songs from the wood for me. Be interesting to hear Doug’s thoughts on the lyrical content from Ian’s more folky phase.

BRIAN MILLER

I thought you already did Octopus, or at least heard "Knots" from that Gentle Giant album, a song that I love.

Claudio Fernandes

Songs From The Wood is my top 3 JT album. I love Trick of The Tail and Octopus as well. Very hard for me to choose, but I'll vote for Tull.

Ryan B Harvey

Jethro Tull for me, easy. Genesis is a close second though. All of these are fantastic albums!

Karl Egil Stubsjøen

Genesis for me. All though I like Division Bell very much, Trick of the tail was the first Genesis album I listened to. I have been a huge fan ever since 😉👍🏻

Craig Higgins

OH, I hope Songs From The Wood wins. I have been waiting for this to be reviewed for so long!

ben-one-eye

Of course it's Genesis in the lead. Why am I even surprised? :)

Pam Norris

TOTT is my pick. It was my first Genesis album and I got it shortly after it came out. Got me hooked on the band.

Adie

I (pointlessly) went for ELP. I do like TOTT though, so I'll accept the inevitable in the knowledge that there are only so many significant Genesis albums.

Alex Libia

Looks like ' Songs from the Wood' is going to have to wait for another day. Hopefully Doug will get to it soon 😁

Potted Rodent

I voted for Genesis, but I'm a little surprised ELP didn't get more of a percentage.

Hi. I am new to the patreon and also a fresh new member of your patreon. So I'm both curious and wondering if you'd like to try listening to Dream Theater's The Astonishing album. Generally in the wider fan base it hasn't been fully embraced, mainly because of how out of touch it is with what Dream Theater have released, but as a long time and die-hard Dream Theater fan I'd be happy to recommend it and would love to know, hear your opinion on it. This is a conceptual album that tells a story from a near dystopian future. LaBrie alternates up to eight different voices for all the characters here. And for me, it's a very high quality story with very high quality music. The album is divided into 2 acts, the first and second CDs and yes, the total length of the album is slightly over 2 hours. But it's really worth it. PS: If my neglish is a little shaky or somehing else, I am sorry. I am from Czech republic and I am not used to talk or write in english but I uderstand almost everything. Thanks for your time.
