For the next EPL, I want to listen to a Beatles Album. There are a few that I've listened to time and again...especially Abbey Road and Let It Be. But, there's still some gaps in my Beatles experience. Pick your preferred Beatles album from this list for the next EPL!

Rubber soul for sure. That, along with Revolver are my favorite two Beatles albums.

BRIAN MILLER

My personal favorites are Abbey Road and Rubber Soul. But I am voting for The White Album because it is a double album and contains a wonderful assortment of different styles of songs.

Duff

Man I hope it's Sgt. Pepper. I am not a diehard fan comparatively but that album was my introduction and contains my favorite Beatles track by my favorite Beatle the most talented one George. Within You Without You is a spiritually defining song 🎵 of my life . " We were talking..." Indeed !

Jeff Norman

I know it's not your thing but...I would really love to hear what you make of "Revolution No. 9"! I'm one of those weirdos who enjoys it...and I'm persuaded, by various people's analyses, that it's not just random noise either...

Bill Brinkmoeller

Sgt. Pepper is too important to ignore. For all intents and purpose, it is the first concept album, and the birth of progressive rock. The others are wonderful, but Pepper is necessary.

Andrew Marsh

The definition of Torn! Sgt Pepper was the very first CD I ever bought. I personally feel the White Album is their best album, but it is long. It does have my favorite Beatle track, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". Have to go with White Album, but not sad that Sgt Pepper is winning.

Steve Hartke

Sgt. Peppers is the easy pick. A bit overrated IMO, give me Rubber Soul or Revolver…

Prog Rock Piano Bar

The early albums are so short - maybe do the top 2 in one session (assuming it's not Dr. P or The White Album

Peter Tutak

Definitely Sgt Pepper for me, plus June 1 is the 58th anniversary of its release. Unless you were there when the album came out, it’s hard to comprehend the sheer ‘leap ahead’ of the norm this was. It was like hearing music of the spheres, music from an advanced alien civilization. But a curated, sequential look at the Beatles’ ‘oeuvre’ might be an interesting, ‘feature’ exercise over the course of a year or so. (Just sayin’.)

Claudio Fernandes

I would have gone for Revolver too, Sgt Pepper's too overrated, so I gave love to Rubber Soul.

As you'll see in my videos over the past few years, I have a copy of the Revolver special edition on LP...gifted to me by our dearly missed Thom. I've listened through that one...and I love it! The albums in the poll are there because I haven't heard them all before and know them the least.

Ron Swirson

Rubber Soul is the album that should win. St. Pepper is to well known. Doug will know virtually every song. Rubber Soul is the more important album because it was the album that pushed the fab four to the direction of St. Pepper. I guess mob does rule.

Ruth James

As I nominated The White Album, that has to get my vote but I will honestly not mind which of these fantastic albums wins and I know you will get to all of them eventually, Doug.

Karl Egil Stubsjøen

Sgt Pepper for sure. A landmark in music history. After that The White album 👌🏻😁

Andrew Mellor

Of all the albums mentioned, Sgt Pepper's sounds very much of it's time and as such a bit dated. Rubber Soul and Revolver [although not an option] show lots of inventiveness and still [to me] sound fresh, as does the While Album.

I went for Sgt Pepper, although I nearly went for The White Album. There are quite a few absolute gems on The White Album, and for the most oddball/experimental songs from The Beatles, that is the place to go. However, it was called (by John Lennon) solo tracks compiled into an album, and while that is not always true, it often is. So if you want an album where the band exceeds the sum of the members, The White Album is not the one to go for, Sgt Pepper is seminal, and The Beatles at their height, breaking through musical conventions of the time. There are, arguably, a better collection of songs on other Beatles albums (Leonard Bernstein heaped praise on Revolver, but despised Sgt Pepper), but there is no more important album to listen to IMO if you want to catch the spirit of the Beatles and why they were so important in pop music culture.

Walking the Path with Chris Ramsbottom

It has to be Sgt Pepper's of those albums, it started so much. But the better choices IMO would include Abbey Road and Let It Be, hopefully Doug will get round to them sometime.

Ray Sincere

You've heard Revolver, I take it.

Scott Friedman

Sgt Pepper one of the greatest albums of all time!!!

Pam Norris

It’s the White Album for me but I do like Sgt. Pepper

Barbara Hughes

I just had to go for Rubber Soul, because at the time it came out, they announced to the world that MUSICAL CHANGE was happening in a big way and it was very exciting! We KNEW they were going to start being "experimental" with each following single or album, but Rubber Soul was the first hint that they were moving beyond their earliest sounds and movie sound tracks and it made a big impact. When "Nowhere Man" came on the radio, my little 13-year-old brain was blown away, for lack of a better description. It was sort of folkie but trippy, it was a cynical social commentary rather than a love song, and it marks a very influential moment in the evolution of all rock music. Rubber Soul is not to be ignored! But I see that most voters are going for Sgt. Pepper. My friends..... their experimentation and profound influence on the music world was happening at least two years before Sgt. Pepper, as monumental as that album was. It wouldn't have happened without Rubber Soul. And hey! Rubber Soul was released SIXTY DANG YEARS AGO, and the music still sounds alive and important. I know it won't win this particular poll..... polls is polls and democracy wins! But Doug, I hope you will choose to take in Rubber Soul for another video reaction in the future!

Mark J Moerman

It's impossible to overrate Sgt Pepper! Quite simply one of greatest moments in music history, a shot heard 'round the world, a chord that echoes forever. However, I agree that Doug should get to Rubber Soul sooner rather than later. You can compare it to Pink Floyd; Sgt Pepper is like Dark Side of the Moon, the masterpiece, but Rubber Soul is like Meddle, the one without which the great masterpiece would never have existed.

Edmond Cox

Rubber Soul. The only Beatle album you must have. It's also astonishing to me that this is the first go round with the Beatles. Wha??
