Heartbreaking. Thoughts and prayers for the three of Y'all.

Doug… So sorry to hear this. I went through the same thing back in 2020 with my dog, Mickey. He had lymphoma. Just signed up to the Council of Dougs because supporting content that brings me joy is way better than Netflix!

Andrew Doody

Spreading love Doug - take all the time you need, we'll be here ❤️

Digibirder

So sorry to hear this Doug! All my best wishes for the most optimistic outcome for you three! Just know that you have a lot of great love and support here in this community you have built.

TrueRocker84

So sorry for you three, take all the time you need, we can always rewatch your great old videos while waiting for new ones. Best wishes from Germany.

Christine (language gentlemen, please!) Philp

Oh Doug and Megan This is evidently very upsetting for you and my heart goes out to you. Take as long as you need. I hope your vet will give you a plan very soon. Sending you both a hug and a treat to Trixie. God bless.

Ian Dent

Hi Doug. They give so much unconditional love it seems almost harder to take than a human at times. We've always had 3 dogs and have lost some. We've also had some very poorly guys that came through illness. I know you won't give up hope and she'll still have the best life she can possibly have, filled with so much love and care. I'm not ashamed to say I always cry when I hear of a friends dog having a rough time. Crying now. Whatever the prognosis, all she'll want is your love and she'll get it. The worst might not happen, dogs are tough little buggers. Wishing you all at your house much love and my thoughts are with you all.

Michael Josten

Much love for You three and good luck for her. Hugs from Germany Rosi and Michael

Sid Levy

Our pets are our children. Hugs to you both.

Octavio Stenberg

I just so happened to be listening through Opeth's Damnation when I saw this so it hit me especially hard. I lost a childhood dog to cancer and my parents lost one of their dogs very suddenly to cancer just last year. Fuck cancer. Y'all take as much time as you need and we'll be here when you get back to it. Sending positive thoughts and energy for a good outcome.

Richard Moore

Sorry for the sad news, Doug. It's hard to have a pet with a serious illness. I had a cat that died of renal failure, and two friends of mine lost their cats to the same thing. It's a lengthy ordeal. I hope Trixie can be treated successfully. Best wishes to you, Meg, and Trixie.

Steve MacArthur

Family time is the most important time of all - please take care of yourselves!

Ross Pollack

I’m so sorry to hear this, Doug. I know you and Megan will do everything possible for Trixie.

Mark J Moerman

Our hearts are with you and Megan. Barb and I just lost our precious kitty a couple of weeks ago, and even 13 years with her wasn't enough, and she and the other cats I have shared my life with have been as much a part of my family as any person. Sending love and big hugs to all three of you.

DAVID SCHWARTZ

Sorry to hear the news about Trixie. Don't have words to speak to how I feel for you and Megan.

Bill Coonley

We are all hoping for the best to your family! Much Love!

Barry P

We love and cherish you Doug and Megan and feel for you like you're our family.

Tom Oakes

So sorry to hear, Doug, my thoughts are with you, Megan and Trixie. I do hope the treatment goes well for her, and I know that she has a lot of love and care around her through this difficult time. Sending best wishes 🙏

So Many Shiny Objects

Deeply sorry to hear. Devastating. I hope you can feel the love coming your way.

Fran B

Please keep me posted. I’d love to spearhead a crowd funding effort

Ryan Poggioli

My deepest sympathies to you and yours during this emotionally challenging time, Doug. There's nothing worse than having a seriously sick loved one, animal or human!

Bill Brinkmoeller

I'm sending love and many hugs to you and Megan. Sorry you got bad news.

KellieE69

Praying hard that it’s just a localized mass that can easily be removed with surgery. Trixie is like my dog niece and I know she is one tough mama. You’ll pull through this Sis…you have to be strong for your mom and dad, okay? There are many more walkies, stuffie kills, and pup cups in your future. Besides, who else is going to take care of the barnyard? Doug and Meg, I have no words. I will stay positive for Trixie’s healing. If there is anything at all I can do, please let me know.

Margaret Barnes

Doug, you & Meg know that we’re all here pulling for you and Trixie. Let us know what you need. Time? Grace? Prayers? Distraction? They’re yours for the asking. If funding is going to be an issue, Fran has said she has a plan and I’m happy to help!! You have gathered a remarkable community here, and we shall rise to the occasion. Whatever you need. So much love to you three, hang in there!!! 💖🫂💖🫂💖🫂

Rodney Griffin

Family is family. Take care of yourself and your family first. That's all that matters. ✌️❤️

Jeff Norman

So sorry to hear this. We've lost pets...and received awful news about them—and it's always devastating. On the other hand, our big-boy cat—who we found out, when he was 3, had a potentially fatal heart situation—is still with us now, at age 12. I hope this is operable and Trixie lives a good long and happy life.

Ray Sincere

News like this is never easy to take with pets. Hang in. I'll be around if you need company.

Ray Talbot

Doug, I am sorry you and Megan got this news. It's, hard. We lost our 4th Westie last year when she developed lymphoma and it was so extensive when found that nothing could be done. Our experienced dog owning friends say that once the cancer starts spreading that nothing can be done. So I hope you caught a small lump fast that can be handled by surgery. Best wishes, Ray (and Cecie our 5th Westie).

Bill Lee

My thoughts are with you and Megan (and Trixie). Love and hugs sent your way.

Berniyh

Oh no! So sad! Best wishes to Megan and you and of course Trixie as well.

AussieOwlCat

Seriously unfair news!!! You guys take all the time you need. Cry all you need. All our hearts are with the three of you. You are giving Trixi the most wonderful life now, after the crap she went through before. All prayers, warm thoughts, and zen hugs are winging your way.

Ruth James

Oh No Doug. I am SO sorry and sad to hear this. I lost my gorgeous Westie very suddenly to cancer 1.5 yrs ago and it was devastating. My heart goes out to you and Megan, and of course, Trixie. I hope she can pull through. Sending you much love. You're a strong team! ❤😢❤

Andrew Mellor

Sorry to hear your news. I'll be thinking of you all.

Pam Norris

We love you and Meg, Doug and my prayers are with Trixie and you both for a good outcome. Who cares about the videos? Not important. Spend special time with your family. ❤️❤️❤️

Monty Ernst

Very sorry to hear, Doug and Megan. Take all the time you need. We'll be here when you're ready to share more of your wise insights. I've personally learned so much about music theory from you and appreciate all you do.

Patricio Avila cardenas

I am so sorry to hear this. Stay strong, and take care of your family ❤️. Try to relax

Potted Rodent

Had the battle with pups passing recently too, it's never easy. All you can do is give them the best life in the time you have them.

Jean-Michel LaFontaine

I've lost a few dogs in my life and it's always a very hard time. I know how you feel. Take care of yourself, Megan and Tricksy while she still lives.

Jim Reeves

Worst news Doug, doggos are the hardest on the heart.

Steven Nemeth

Hey Doug, I see that you posted a reaction to Led Zeppelin 1 on YouTube and you seem to be in better spirits. I am hoping that means you have better news about Trixie. All my best to you, Megan and Trixie.

HeadStart

I am sure there is plenty of support coming all of your ways. Doug, Megan and Trixie, Sorry about the news of what you, Megan and Trixie are going through. Right now I think it’s important to point out that ANTICIPATION is your worst enemy. Very few of us are schooled physicians (Vets). I hope to point out to all of us that the most efficient course of action is to, simply, follow the prescribed path that the doctors offer up. Try not to waste time, effort and emotional exacerbation by trying to second guess or assume possible outcomes. There will be time enough as the diagnoses start arriving. Don’t panic. Deal with things as they come. My heart goes out to you all. If you need to talk, you have my email. I WILL make it happen, Headstart/phlakmagnet

Duff

My thoughts, prayers, and all the positive healing energy I have are being sent to and yours .

Richard Rathbun

I, too, lost a family dog to cancer. He was a French bulldog, only 8.5 years old. The lump was in his neck. We had it cut out once but it came roaring back, as predicted. There was nothing to do except the obvious, once he started having trouble breathing. I'm sorry for your ordeal. I understand it. Be strong.

Ruth James

Did Trixie have her op on Tuesday?

Luther Diamond

Do what you have to do Doug. Thank you for keeping us informed.
