Hey Y'all!

We're ready to launch our March edition of the Fan Favorites series. Last month, we heard this community's favorite relationship songs. This month, in honor of Women's History month here in the USA, we're interested to hear your favorite songs by women. All of the voting and submissions will again be facilitated on our Discord site in the #fan-favorites channel. Each of you is allotted ONE submission...so pick your favorite! But, you may (and are encouraged to) up-vote as many other submissions as you'd like. So, whether it's a song written by a woman, performed by a woman, an all-female band, or a band with a female lead singer, let us know what song is your favorite!

The voting/submissions are active now!

Anything by early 70s all girls band Fanny. It's pure raw rock n roll. And they're great musicians

Hejira from Joni Mitchell is a great call as well.

Cloud to Ten by Dusty Springfield

I like Song of Women by The Hu with Lzzy Hale. Strong female lead, a song celebrating women, and really cool Mongolian spice to the whole thing.

James Hyzy

Kate Bush Cloudbusting

Edward Malthouse

Heart, Janis Joplin, and Joni Mitchell are hard to beat, but I'd also like to give a plug for some newer bands that would benefit from the exposure. One at the top of my list is a Swiss band call Cellar Darling. It's a folk prog metal band with the leader female singer also playing the hurdy gurdy!

Garance A Drosehn

This is such a wide category with so many good songs to choose from. I'm going to have to think about this for at least a week before I even try to post my suggestion.

Ayreon- valley of the queens live from ayreon universe. Marcela bovio. Anneke van giersbergen and floor Jansen. That's a good one. Anathema- endless ways is worth a listen too with lee Douglas singing

MrWondrous David Beckwith

Joan Armatrading: "I'm Lucky", "Stronger Love", "Shouting Stage", All a Woman Needs", "Down to Zero", Love and Affection".

Mark J Moerman

Kate Bush - Cloudbusting, The Ninth Wave

Magenta - classic style prog band featuring an amazing singer, Christina Booth. I would suggest Bela or A Gift From God from the new album Masters of Illusion.

Maria Franz of | LIFA - Krigsgaldr LIVE on you tube

Rick Morse

Anything by Joni Mitchell ... and her version of "Twisted" (1974 album "Court & Spark") would be a perfect item for a "Weird Wednesday" broadcast. "Just Like This Train" is another masterpiece of her's from the same album.

Jim Lake

Houdini by Kate Bush...The entire "The Dreaming" album in fact!

Lewi

Long Lankin by Steeleye Span.

Lewi

An Old Fashioned Waltz by Sandy Denny .

Wade Markham

Another 3 groups I'd like to suggest: After Forever, Revamp and Nightwish. Due to Floor Jensen. I love when she goes operatic especially during her career as the lead vocalist of Nightwish.

The Black Queen

Kate Bush - Wuthering Heights or Babooshka

Rolf Jordbruen

Beth Hart, Floor Jansen in Nightwish, Adele, Tatiana in Jinjer, Anneke von Giersbergen in Ayreon, Sabine Edelsbacher in Edenbridge, Maria Breon in HolyHell

Steve Ben-Shalom

Anything off if Rats by Sass Jordan. She's nasty good

Wayne Penney

"No More I Love You's" by Annie Lennox

Michael Kramer

What about Lara Fabian? You might not know her. But she is just great. For instants „ requiem…“ with Johnny Hallyday or „adagio“ (covered by Floor Jansen) or“ je suit malade“

Martin Edwards

Kate Bush. The ‘b-side’ of the amazing ‘Hounds of Love’ album, a beautiful concept entitled ‘The Ninth Wave’.

Jukka Alanen

Heart - Barracuda Absolute masterpiece by the Wilson sisters.

Scott Burson

After much thought -- there are soooo many good ones -- I'm going with the 1976 Grammy winner, Janis Ian's "At Seventeen".

Michel Paré

Annie haslam from renaissance…

Michel Paré
