Many of our more recent Extended Play Lounge Episodes have featured classic albums from the 1980s and before. This time, I'm interested in listening to a great Prog or Prog/Metal album from the first decade of the 21st century. Here's five options to choose from!

Pick your favorite from these options!

Oh man it’s gotta be Fear of a Blank Planet. It’s just too tasty to pass up

Teasday

Wow that's a tough poll

Eirik Morken

Please guys!! Can you please vote for Snow? Have been waiting for it since Doug started his channel. Guess it's gonna be Opeth 😏 Come oooooooon!

Øyvind Rønningstad

Oh wow, I truly want all of these real bad, but PoS takes it for me.

Matthew Venuti

Remedy Lane tops Snow by just a hair in my book.

Frank Bernard

Had to go with Opeth but if PT wins, I will not be upset. :D

Aaron E Austin

It's a toss up between Opeth and PT, but we've done so much Opeth so I voted for PT.

Matt Palmer

PoS isn't well known enough to ever win one of these polls. If you ever get to Remedy Lane (which you should!) it would need to be a Doug's Choice.

Eirik Morken

Since Spock's once again won't make it, how about including them on the Daily Doug? The Great Nothing on a friday would be great. 18 months since last time....

AussieOwlCat

Wait!! What??? No Nightwish?????!!!!!!!

mike.cats.guns

We really need more Spock's Beard love on the channel!

Frits van Voorst

So far, the result mirrors the relative popularity of the bands

Anthony Taylor

All great choices. By any chance will PT be the vinyl edition? What Happens Now? is a MUST spin =)

Dave Brockis

I enjoy all sorts of music, but these bands just don't float my boat, so no vote from me. I will give the extended play lounge a listen, because you never know, tastes change.

Bill C

Some fantastic choices this time around. Had to throw my vote behind Spock's Beard even though it's an underdog at this point.

Christopher Arters (relative timeworx - Mr.A)

PTree fan since... well... pretty much before anyone knew who PTree was and gotta say, the pick from this list has to be SNOW. Neither Fear nor Snow represents the best of either band's catalog, but regardless of what history says, Snow was the last SB album and merits special treatment.

Kevin Connell

You have to add King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard's 4th album of their 5 album 2017 run, Polygondwanaland. It is a modern prog rock masterpiece!

Jim Reeves

Snow gets my vote. Love Opeth, but Doug's done some of this album already. Still no Doug love for EPICA, though they belong on this list IMO. And if death metal is an option, why not some Septicflesh???

Daniel Andrews

Would’ve preferred Pain of Salvation “BE”. All great choices though!

j z

This is a tough one all fantastic records

Toby

This is a tough choice!

Bill Brinkmoeller

Porky Tree for me! A landmark album that I've been hoping would eventually get the Doug Treatment. If Steven Wilson had written no other song than "Anesthetize" he would still be a Prog legend. Gavin Harrison is thrilling, as always.
