Hi y'all,

I've selected five classic albums from our Master List as options for our next Extended Play Lounge. Choose your favorite!

Of course, I've heard some of Pet Sounds...but not all. And I don't think I know much from any of the other four.

The poll will run through Thursday June 1.

Si

The channel needs more Camel!

Randy Hammill

On the Threshold of a Dream is my favorite of the original seven Moody Blues albums.

Michael Brown

It would be nice to hear some Fairport Folk Rock. Matty Groves is Outstanding

Illume Eltanin

Oy… Threshold up against Snow Goose??? I’ll make a decision, but I hope that doesn’t mean the other has to wait long for its turn.

Sid Levy

On The Daily Doug (Episode 205), Doug does a great job covering Rhayader/Rhayader Goes to Town. While I would like to see Pet Sounds at a later date, Doug needs to hear the whole album all the way through with us.

Richard Elliott

Blow by Blow is one of my favourite Jeff Beck albums

twinklepop

Please do to our children's children's children in the next poll!! 🥺🥺🥺

Dan Noyes

Everybody needs some Sandy Denny. If the album doesn't make it, please do a review of Fairport Convention's version of "Tam Lin". Thank you.

Allen

Yeah, this is definitely one of the hardest to choose. I think that Doug would like some of the folk-rock groups such as Fairport Convention, Incredible String Band, and Pentangle. However, I voted for more Moodies. . .

Barbara Hughes

Voted for the Moodies because it's the beloved soundtrack of my teenage years! But I'll be happy hearing Camel if they win. From what I know about them and have heard (not a lot), I enjoy their music very much. Needless to say, you'll have to get to ALL of these SOME day! :-)

Richard Rathbun

Hardest choice so far! All are great and welcome. I had to go with Jeff Beck here, because my vote is never in the top 3 so why start now 🤣

Illume Eltanin

I believe Dr. Doug intends to do the Magnificent Seven in chronological order. TOCCC will be the next after Threshold.

BRIAN MILLER

I love Fairport Convention's Liege and Lief (and saw it performed live with 5/6 of the original band), so I voted for that. Looks like it is trailing the poll results so far. If another album wins, I hope it is Pet Sounds.

Juan Ignacio Quesada

I would to see The Snow Goose! Camel definitely need some love from Doug.

Juan Ignacio Quesada

Camel is a terrific band. Everything they did is excellent. Even "I can see your house from here", which is the most pop album has Ice which is a 10 mins piece. If you have not listened to Mirage is absolutely fantastic and so are Raindances and Dust and Dreams. Andy Latimer is a seriously underrated guitarist. Unfortunately not too much is available for digital purchase.

Fugazi

I think Blow by Blow was the most impactful album (maybe Pet Sounds too?). If BbB doesn’t win, i hope The Snow Goose does. I’m fairly new here, but my sense is that Doug is not enthusiastic about all-instrumental albums. Is that at all accurate?

Thom P

Just seeing Fairport Convention in the poll makes me smile. They probably won't win but raising awareness of this amazing band is a great step forward!

doughelvering

I am equally enthusiastic about instrumental music as I am texted music. It's just that I have more personal experience writing texted music.

Molly Jones-Lewis

I'd love to have Doug do my childhood favorite road trip album, Wakeman's Journey to the Center of the Earth. I still listen to it in the car when I need to feel epic.

Ronald Davis

Have you done Pet Sounds yet?
