Mike clearly made the mistake of not preparing properly. There are a few tricks to doing the stunt with any success, and let's be clear that it IS a stunt. There are several key factors you need to prep beforehand, and I'll try to point out where Mike went wrong. 1. Smooth tablecloth. Silk is the most likely fabric for Mike to get his hands on, but linen can also be woven just as smoothly. It may be best to assume Mike did just that. 2. Smooth out the tablecloth. Any air pockets underneath (even fabric can be this airtight) will flummox the stunt, catching any glassware along for the ride when you heave to. Mike may have done this properly. Or not, I don't know. 3. Positioning of the crockery compared to the cloth. For the most success, put the dishware on the edge of the tablecloth, not all across. Mike looks to have yanked a fully set table. Too much friction from the weight of all the dishes will slow the cloth down significantly, and more cloth to travel under will result in more opportunity for something sitting on top of the tablecloth going along for a ride. 4. Yank downward. Use the table's edge for leverage against the cloth. Mike seems to have had some upward motion in his pull, resulting in the spinning plate still being on the table. This stunt should have the cloth slide right out from underneath, with nothing being overly disturbed. 5. It's best to do this stunt unburdened. Mike seems to have his assistant under his hat on this; whether the hat eliminates this weight or not, I don't know, but I'm going to assume it's a mundane hat, and the assistant is the one with a manastone necklace, hence her ability to hide in such a fabric top. If anyone thinks I'm off the mark, let me know.

The funny thing is. In I love lucy program when she did it. It all was meant to go on the Floor. But when it was dune the table cloth came right out and everyone was shocked. And it was left in. The thing is. Things don't go as planed sometimes. But that may not always be a bad thing.
