The historic moment when Trace "cursed" Karen, suggested by WereKeidran! Maren's not so jazzed about it.

Kinipshun

Lol this is why I love Karen. That, and I'm jealous. I want keidran ears!

Dimensional

Too bad she couldn't have a tail to go with those ears.

Jade soda

Wee bit late with the whole "New Years" joke

WereKeidran

Missed the live stream but I totally love it!

TechCPT

Second the tail! Maybe in a future story...

unsteddy

Looks like Maren will never let Trace h e a r the end of this one...

Sunfish43

Is this cannon? I always assumed Maren was just a hybrid (like what Trace's kid will probably be.) Also they were apparently friends in the old life so not sure why Trace would "curse" her.

Sunfish43

Maybe it's Keidran New Years? Like Chinese New Year?

Customaera

"My punishment seems to have backfired."

Tomtom

Yeah, it's canon. It says in Karen's bio that she annoyed Trace so he "cursed" her.

Tomtom

Even back when he was a genocidal maniac, Trace still made people happy.

DarthKeidran

Maren: "YOU GET RID OF THOSE RIGHT NOW!!!" Karen: "Can I Has Fluffy Tail Too!?!?" Trace: (thinking) "I can get partial revenge for the annoyance if I say no." (Aloud) "What would Maren..." Maren: "ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!" (Picks up and Throws Flora (who was unsuccessfully sneaking by), who lands on him, inadvertently causing the beginning of the events of the comic)

Admiral Storm

"I clearly didn't think this one through..."

Grip

Looks like she is wiggling her butt with happiness

SCD

Trace: I cursed you by giving you cat ears and you loved them! What's wrong with you!

Shadowkey392

Nope. Canon. Hybrids were, until recently, officially impossible because of godly intervention by the Masks.

Rhawkas

One of these days I'd like to see him finish the job (canon or otherwise). XD

DarthKeidran

Ok Mr Tat, you've officially won the comment section today.

so this is why karen is looks like a keidran

Cloud_Basterran

I don't think that's how it started but would be interesting if it was :)

Hello

Karen Taverndatter...the first neko fan.

Aran Tukasko

I love it! This needs colour!

Jordan Dean Ezekude

I'm not sure if it's easy to notice, but it looks as if Trace only gave her an extra pair of ears. Look closely at the sides of her face.

Jordan Dean Ezekude

But Karen oughta consider herself lucky. If she went too far back then, she'd be dead by now. :(

Scott Mortimore

I can see that. Looks like someone forgot to erase the original ears.

Daniel Bishop

She has both sets. From her entry on the character page: "Karen's extra set of Keidran ears were given to her as a curse by Trace, whom she was annoying. The curse backfired, however, when Karen decided she loved the ears and wanted to keep them."

IAmTheRealNatani

no, she has had those human ears the whole time. re read page 980 and look closely at the sides of her head in the second to last frame
