Red from Overlysarcastic made an interesting case for immortality during their Trope Talk on the subject, both for and against. The irony is, because she's talking about writing, very few writers are able to successfully pull off writing immortals. The simple reason is because we are all mortal, and therefore need to put ourselves in a foreign (or even alien) perspective. Short of being yeeted into the sun, immortals are not plagued by the fear of death. One good example of an immortal I can point out would be Captain Jack Harkness from Doctor Who. That man found himself gaining immortality after being killed, so let's not go that route, either. I won't say Wade Wilson is a good example, but he's definitely a lot of fun to watch. That said, do I want to die? Absolutely not. Do I want to live forever? Absolutely not. Immortals are a point in time, and will remain stuck at that point until something finally erases them.
