Sure, but what truth does it tell? A wagging tail often indicates excitement in canids, but has more varied meaning in felids (to say nothing of other mammal families!). Basitin tails definitely more closely resemble feline tails than canine tails, but has Tom ever established any clear sense of what Basitin tail language means?

The Romans used the third finger of the left hand because they believed that a vein ran directly from that finger to the heart. I don't know if that's true or not (the Roman belief or that it's Roman), but it sounds good. Personally, I believe it's because they carried their swords and other weapons in their right hands and didn't want to interfere with that.

I've heard the 'love vein' story as well. I've also heard from several people (including my uncles who were military) that in addition to the love vein theory, the superstition that using a weapon with the same hand as the wedding ring can bring that anger to your home. I guess there are quite a few beliefs from around the world irl that involve those traditions...
