I went back to check older images and she does actually have the blue eyes so it isn't the eyes. It's the lack of dreadlocks and the casual nakedness that greater evidence for this Adira being an imposter. Remember Adira has been around humans her whole life and I sincerely think that she has had the shame of nakedness drilled into if she's been living with them for that long.

For me, the thing with the eyes is that they seem to be glowing to a degree. I vaguely remember that the Seer’s daughter has a power to view things remotely through animals and that causes those animal’s eyes to glow. And so I’m open to the possibility that, even if this is Adria / her body, someone else may be “in her head”, controlling and viewing the world through her by some magical means.

For me it's the pinpoint pupils (in addition to the glow), it's suggestive of brainwashing. Either chemical or magical. Of course (given the setting), I suspect it would be magic.

I submit it was likely not deceit so much as simply not knowing the manner in which you would prefer them to communicate their preferences. Learning to communicate with one's own species is very manageable, if sometimes tricky, as one can reasonably presume to have a few certain feelings in common. Learning to understand the cues and emotions of a different species is a completely different game, especially when one doesn't understand the differences between oneself and the other. I'm sorry to hear that your cats are not with you now. It sounds like you care for them very much.

It was more that the little negatives didn’t outweigh the positives. Plus, that only happened with one of the two cats. The other one was the most chill, loving pet I ever had. You could check his teeth and fangs, and he’d never bite. And no matter where he was in the house, you could call his name and he’d come running to sleep on your lap or stomach.
