The moment young Rose was discovered in disguise trying to track down Euchre in human territory, suggested Marshallmelon and Amethyst Retribution!For a refresher: https://twokinds.keenspot.com/comic/724/Rose's disguise was an illusion, unlike Euchre's natural ability, and thus was able to be dispelled. Euchre's transformation can't be dispelled.

Kind of strange that after being caught, they stripped her down. Like I know she couldn’t just walk around naked, and that she doesn’t have the same sense of modesty like humans and wouldn’t feel shame for that, but still seems odd that they’d do that to her.

The guy in the background — as Alaric has already mentioned below — is Sirius, one of the Master Templars. He probably just dispelled Rose’s disguise. We know him from the comic, and he seems to be a heavy smoker.

I think it’s just ordinary tobacco as we know it, and he probably has to roll his cigarettes himself — not with paper, but with a thin tobacco leaf. So if this is what you meant with a cuba cigarette, I‘m with you. But these are just my thoughts on smoking cigarettes in Mekkan; I could be wrong. Edit on time lines: personally I like the idea of Mekkan and Terra beeing parallel (simulated?) worlds. But there is - as far as I know - no official lore on such things. You are wrong. In history Cuba cigarettes are made of tabac which is from America. Tobacco only reached Europe after the discovery of America. This happened in the 16th century, and "Twokinds" is set in the 7th century. (And what is Mekkan?)

I don't think it was Sirus who exposed Rose though. I think she was exposed because of her sloppy spell casting. Sirus: '...an adorable little illusion charm'. And then he ordered to hang her before interrogating, knowing that interrogation would expose Euchre. And to test Euchre's loyalty to Templars. Sirus: 'Well, I considered holding off until a translator arrived, but this seems easier. Then again… *imagine* what kind of things we might learn…' I think every time that story reappears there were plenty of opportunities to mention that it was Sirus who spot Rose if that was the truth, but there are none of such mentions.

I don’t think so, @Emil. As I mentioned, Mekkan — the world where the TwoKinds story takes place — doesn’t have a confirmed timeline that matches the Terran timeline. So we can only assume that they have a plant similar to our tobacco and know how to use it. Regarding the circumstances that led to Rose being spotted, @Drazgon is surely right, as he has very detailed knowledge of the TwoKinds story.
