He's not being mean or disrespectful. He's just an old friend. They know each other well enough to insult each other casually. While most Basitin treat Adelaide with reverence, those closer to her in social standing tend to treat her more like a family member or comrade, especially those who went to battle alongside her before becoming king.

@Drazgon based on what's happened in the story, it's definitely canon. Adelaide is tough yet a pretty chill queen/king.

I can already picture the stone table bursting apart and crushing the soldier behind it, while the queen and the general carry on completely unfazed. All that’s missing now is a Primaris Space Marine (about 3 meters tall and capable of lifting one or two tons — maybe more — with his power armor), who enters the scene, removes his armor, and challenges the queen — flexing his biceps, each the size of a human torso. Now that would be interesting: Could a Primaris Space Marine actually lose?

And yes there is a chapter which is named “Space Wolves”. The “Dark Angels” and “Space Wolves” hate each other because their Primarchs (Lion El’Johnson and Leman Russ) punched each other through a ship. A fucking space ship! (Maybe 15 Kilometers long) A lot of Dark Angels Space Marine died in their fight. And I think a few Space Wolves died too. Anyway FOR THE EMPEROR!

The way I see it, a Primaris Asatartes may actually lose to Adelaide, but that's assuming he doesn't put a bolter slug through her, first. Spess Mehreens ain't exactly accommodating towards non-humans... Also, Jade Adelaide's title is "King," not "Queen."
