I was asked for a full ref which I can't really do for her as all her stats are unknown at the moment, but here she is, some Vanity doodles! Suggested by Guest455!

At a guess, I'd say it's part of the transformation. Either she hasn't seen a fox keidran and is more mimicking actual foxes as reference, or she has so little respect for keidran that she deliberately exaggerates her form slightly toward the animalistic side, just enough that only the keen eye would notice.

The two more goofy faces at the bottom give me slight Nagatoro vibes, suggesting that she can dish out flirty sexy teasing to keep an enemy off balance, but when that same flirtation is thrown back at her she gets embarrassed super easily. If true, it could be a useful weakness to exploit.

It's just the evolution of the art style. Tom used to draw more anime-faced characters and Flora and Laura basically have the same face with differing colorations. He's developed his own style since then and new characters have a more unique look to them, but the original cast still retains the connection to their original forms. We've seen from a few more detailed shots that Flora, at least, does have a proper muzzle, the art just downplays it most of the time. The same probably also applies to Laura.

Could be one or the other, or both. She does have some unusual features to begin with. The dark red eyes and blood red pawpads in particular. No keidran or basitin in the story so far, or even in any colored sketches, has those.

Definitely liking this character. She's definitely chaos in a can (I think she and Nora would get along famously... if Vanity can more or less behave herself). We she real, I would have to seriously reconsider my policy on inserting certain body parts into insanity....

@Iago24 While this is true to an extent, it's not the same kind of full animal face that only a handful of keidran seem to actually have (most of which I think have been in miscellaneous art, not the comics). Clovis is one and, looking through some of the art I have saved, I was reminded that Clovis has a fox servant called Carver that looks very similar to Vanity here.

we've also seen that the tigers have a mix of both animal like and human like faces. my guess is that the last time the masks allowed interbreeding between humans and keidran, enough human traits entered the genepool of certain keidran types that they keep being expressed.

Perfectly designed character, she is playing the crowd here the same way as her victims in the story. Yes, look at the eyes and boobs, never mind what the hands are doing. One thing I remember from old days of security, always look at the hand and stance.

I don’t think there is ever anything honest with a trickster. She is perfectly capable to fall madly in love as long as that serves a goal, and then stab the victim without a second thought, and then be very sad to evoke pity. I have met a person like that, except that stabbing was figuratively not literally. Sex was great, but came with a steep price tag later on.

The idea about comes from the way there's an unnatural blue glow around the mask at all times, the way the eyes of the mask showed a slight shocked expression when getting taken off as if there was a moment of clarity just before becoming inanimate again, and the way vanity is constantly looking at the mask when referring to Adira with the "Yes...." after getting asked if she's alive and the "She's.....nearby" while the mask is in frame and she glances at it. Also, what counter are you even talking about? And did you forget how Trace's mansion has a soul bound to it that had been experimented on in effort to bring back his dead wife? Nothing is out of question here and I don't like the idea of a mother meeting that fate just because Clovis wanted to invade said mansion and steal the soul of the dragon who was visiting inside to fuel his own magic.

Adira's body can be seen under the bar counter in panel 4 here: https://twokinds.keenspot.com/comic/1260/ The outfit matches the one she was wearing when last seen. And of course the mask glows, a blue glow is the color of active magic. And since keidran can't use magic on their own, they got to use outside sources. The bottle seem in the link above was probably mana imbued fluid and used to start the transformation/illusion of the mask, and the mask probably has a mana stone or other such item built into it to maintain the illusion, and possibly copy a specific appearance. And yes we've seen some sould related horrors, but notice that in each of those the body remains intact and pretty much untouched? Nothing in the comic so far has been guro to the extent of wearing body parts or transformation of a person into an inanimate object, so why would you suddenly assume the comic would go that route?

Yep, those are her clothes. Which if tom has gone the route of her becoming the mask would have fallen to the ground when she got changed. And I don't get why you assume there's absolutely no way, in a world of shapeshifters, anthro fur covered humanoids, magic, and deities that are literally based upon "masks" as their whole shtick, that this person who perfectly mimics the appearance of someone by wearing a mask OF THEIR FACE, would have turned said victim into the very mask she wears. But this is the last reply im making here until Tom reveals what's going on in the next update hopefully, because your reaction of "there's no way Tom would do that" to my theory based off the hints that he has appeared to draw since Vanity was revealed is urking me while you know about as much as anyone else what Tom is capable of doing in his comic until he posts the next page
