Vanity responds to being told to "be yourself" following the Good Morning sketch, suggested by Joemama6787!

Kabar

Sounds like a you problem.

Wolf Lord lewis

..... As evil/bad/mean as she seems I still feel a desire to protect her.

James Claus

Dude..... this is freaky, i like this idea but still.....crazy....

Cedric L.

Deception is a heavy drug. So much so that the real deal is drowned out by the lies

Der Burger

I help taking them off. No need to fear your true self.

Jeremiah Fox

Awesome, cute... And creepy. 😏

Patrick Horton

Her base form looks human. I might be right!

That sound low-key scary

Catprog

Poor fox

Dhaka Yeena

Vanity has certainly made a splash in the community. This character is so dang cool that every lil bit of her backstory is like a golden nugget

Mikhael B

So who came before, Vanity or the mask? This one is snuggle worthy

Stephen Gilberg

Reminds me of the shapeshifter on "The Flash" who forgot her original face.

Jordan

I hate that feeling. ;_;

Golden_Pawz

Im fine with any version of her. I would still smash.

Drazgon

Why do u put on a mask before peeling off the old one, silly?

Abstract Indigo

If that right panel is metaphorical due to loss of identity that's kinda tragic. If that's 'real', that's terrifying.

Cabrinius

who is this character?? i don't remember them when i last read the comic. ..then again i started from the beginning and did get to the end... but that was back in like, 2020...

ThirdKind

This deserves a color. Tom doesn't go dark often enough. Curious if she can actually put masks upon masks 🎭

Cabrinius

ah okay, thank you. guess i should start reading twokinds again.

The amount of theories of her true identity is starting to increase more and more

Joemama6787

HOLY COW, A REQUEST OF MINE GOT MADE...AND IT WAS THE VERY FIRST ONE I MADE SINCE I RE-SUBCRIBED????! Also nooooo, that's so tragic :( Lemme hug her bro pleaseeeee

Drazgon

Indeed it is like a golden nugget. I know that feeling oh so well. But do not be fooled with a fools gold. Good luck separating actual lore and character development from patrons' fantasies.

Connery Cateni (ccateni)

I do hope we see her having to confront "herself" and learn to embrace it. It would make her quite an interesting story and make her an interesting anti-hero to the universe.

Alex Xeno

That... Kind of makes me just wanna hug her tightly.

JIngle

And now we have a combination of existential eldritch horror and "I can fix her"

Gizmo

A new character from the most recent pages, you got 5 years of reading to catch up on it's been a wild ride

Ordithus

She is a tragic, evil cutie. Fascinating

Bingo Goat

....yep, okay, this is to be expected from the mind that gave us Detritus. deeper wotld psychology. loving it~

AstroChaos

I'm honestly having a hard time deciding which is worse.

Rainelover

That is kinda horrifying, I can't help but want to hold and comfort her...

Sernard

Now there would be a lot of interresting dynamic and character writing opportunities there. A quest for identity is always interresting. That kind of question is always a fun direction to take a character, especially if they have a dynamic with someone who wants to know their "true" self. Will they find out who they were ? Decide to forge a new sense of self and their own face ? Give up and take refuge becoming someone else until they have to relinquish that identity back, giving more control to the owner of the face they borrow ?

Broaster07

The sad truth for many of us; we identify with what we do, and nothing after that. It comes with age, Vanity. Talk to Rose, or Nora. I'm sure they'd point you in the right direction.

Broaster07

I too love a tragic figure for a waifu

Abstract Indigo

@Drazgon It actually gets kind of hard when analysing all the supplemental and Patreon material for TV Tropes. You have the comic, canonical supplemental material like ref sheets, completely non-canon stuff, non-canon but in-character stuff that can still provide insight into a character's personality. In the end my approach is to document all confirmed canon material, and then for non-canon stuff make the source clear to provide the right context.

Ascender

A fox is noone.

aphelius

Crazy thing to drop such an interesting character so late into the story tho

BraixenIsWaifu

Resonates a lot with me as a pwBPD! There's a deep underlying sense of emptiness and lack of any real "identity", so we throw different masks on every day. I've started discovering myself more recently, and things I genuinely enjoy instead of capitulating and going along with things others do! Never too late to start making someone under those masks, Vanity!

T- Wolf

Oooo... this is some nice horror.

OldeWolfe

Need to get Reni to 'peer' into her mind like she did Trace. See what's buried in there.

Professor Ryuusei

“I’m sorry to hear that,” I say to Vanity as I embrace her. “It may be hard for you to know who you are or were. But we can find your true self together.”

wjd1206

Kinda. What I expected. I think this is what Captain America meant when he said to Black Widow: 'That's a tough way to live.' To become someone else, you must destroy who you are. 😪😪😪

Oswald

She's an interesting notfox

Runeru

I would love there to be continuation of this. Where I or the viewer can reach forward whether I'm wearing gloves or not, the whole this person's face and slowly remove the mask to one by one and even though they may not have any idea what they look like anymore we will and we will embrace them for it.

Joemama6787

Also for anyone who may be curious I suggested this because I thought it would be cute and fluster her LMAOOOOO

wjd1206

Wouldn't it be nice to be an anchor for someone like that? Alas, the anchor needs a ship. I don't think there's a ship anymore.

wjd1206

Sometimes the metaphor is far more real than we can imagine.

Skye Stardreamer

That's... that's got to be hard. I hope she finds someone who gives her both the courage and support to try, and the care afterward, regardless of result, to truly come into her own. Someone who's become that, like that... through magic in a fantasy world, or far more shameful things in our own... there's no way that isn't trauma of one kind or another. Of course, for the author/artist, there's the easy way out, but... I'm MtFemme NB trans, and furry is part of my identity. [To the inevitable haters: I appreciate your concern. I will be okay. I hope you will, someday, as well -- since one does not come into that place without pain of one's own.] Identity and 'masks', for me in the strictly metaphorical sense only, of course, are very much things I have and continue to struggle with, particularly since one of my parents is transphobic. (Thankfully not in any of the more virulent forms of that, but... it makes something that is already extraordinarily difficult much, much harder.) I do this sort of thing *very* rarely. But... please. Whatever else you do with her character... Vanity deserves to find herself, and she deserves to have that be part of the main storyline somehow, at least as a sideplot. There are just too many people out there, who need someone like this to come out on top, at least however *she* sees it, to *not* give them someone like Vanity. Vanity matters. Let her find herself, whomever she is. I don't care that I'm not in the story... if nobody else will help her through that and accept her, *I* will.

henchwookie

Another story: on the old " Muppets Show " Kermit said to Peter Sellers " while on the show to relax and be himself ". Sellers replied he could never do that because he has no basic self. Kermit asked how and Sellers said well he did have one at one time " but I had it surgically removed ".

Warmfur

Bro thought he'd see a flustered vanity, but got something deeper lol

William Frederick

DANG IT, WHY DID YOU ALL TELL TOM TO TURN HER INTO A TRAGIC VILLAIN?! 😭

Aurora Astralis

Vanity is as tragic as a Shakespeare play, yet also surprisingly soulful and comprehensive of her own mortality and fate, being so many people at once, I do wonder who she is under all her masks and I feel some very similar to how she feels and I think everyone has felt this way before to some extent. I feel like she is a just SUCH a interesting character to see in the TK-verse And I need all of her lore lol

Alex

Is Vanity one of the Templar leaders in disguise? The one that also wears masks? They both wear the same bow. And I think I remember the Templar planning something sinister a while ago. Orchestrating a keidran attack on a city, to fuel the hate and distrust of humans, sounds just like something they'd do.

Rhawkas

Okay, that's more than a little horrifying... And sad...

Keimori

Whoops, too bad, Vanity is where Tom shoved all the Existential dread.

feralcat52

There are times I've felt that way myself....

KHVathiel

I thought I commented before but may have forgot to send it, oops But I wonder if it's a situation where she has used masks for so long that her body has become a corporeal mass of energy. Where if she removes all, she's just energy and either slowly dissolves away without the masks, or just remain energy due to her magic. It really is interesting to think about! Or perhaps...they were male originally lol. Still, they're a very interesting character!

Linxan

Well, that's terrifying. I wonder who she'd say she's being right now.

feralcat52

I hope things work out for you, friend. Sometimes I think we're all wearing masks of one sort or another.

Iago24

She's definitely at least based on her, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if they were meant to be the same character.

Seadog Driftwood

Maurice Sendak wrote, "You can't make something out of nothing," then proved that statement wrong by making a story out of it. And in the end, when life's been lived and death's been died, all that remains of our inner selves are stories. Whoever Vanity originally was, she has grown through her masked exploits, and that has shaped who she is now. That said: There is always something in the core of one's psyche, often many somethings, however deeply hidden and difficult to identify they may be. At the barest minimum, there are instincts & learned behaviours: all living beings possess the former, and the latter is hardly exclusive to "sentient" beings. Therefore, even if Vanity were to turn out to be a slime mould or a lichen, there would still be a "someone / something" left inside.

JeKeBe

...Was not expecting such a heartbreaking reply to that. I... need to go find some light and funny now.

Raviolo

Pirandello was right after all

Ascdren

Aren't we all wearing masks all the time?

Skye Stardreamer

Thank you for the kind words. Little things like that help people like me more than you can know... and, I have the same sense. I hope you have a place where you can take off all of your own.

Puugu

Oof. This hits so hard and close to home. Moved a lot growing up and eventually "I'll be whoever they need me to be" became my new kid social survival strategy. It took a long time and a LOT of work with professionals to unlearn that and find myself. Then I had to learn how to hold onto myself & let myself grow without other people pushing me

Michael Marcoccio

I’m literally hearing Billy Joel’s song; “The Stranger” as I read these comments. “We all have a face, that we hide away forever…”

Puugu

Which flick was that? I eould like to rewatch that scene

Puugu

There are constantly new characters being introduced. It's an evolvong story and an evolving world. Just like life, sometimes we meet "interesting characters" that may even become significant ones -decades- after the story started

BraixenIsWaifu

I emphasized "physical" and "literal"

wjd1206

I believe it was the Winter Soldier after after they went to the mall and figured out where the algorithm disk came from. Cap *borrowed* a pickup with Black Widow.

Vicroc4

This is kind of how I expected this one to go.

wjd1206

Dedication to your art? Perhaps pathologically so?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

wjd1206

You can't hug a blackhole. 😪

Wyatt Banfield

"we all wear masks, op, But which one is real? The one that hides your face... Or the one that IS your face?"

wjd1206

But would it be Vanity, or an amalgam of many others fighting for survival?

Wyatt Banfield

As I replied to someone else here: "we all wear masks, (y/n), but which one is real? The one that hides your face... Or the one that IS your face?" (Points to whoever catches the reference)

Estragon

I think many can relate

wjd1206

Billy Joel's song discusses people putting on a facade to hold others at bay. This I think goes deeper. How long or often can the mimic become someone else before the mimic is erased?🤔🤔

wjd1206

HEY! I resemble that remark!

Max Florschutz

Yup, she needs some therapy. Okay, a lot of therapy.

wjd1206

I think @feralcat gave more than kind words. Masks in the metaphorical sense are a form of self defense and survival. Don't rely on them too much, dig deep, look in the mirror, and find your self then hold on to that base and grow. Don't be toxic, but don't hide. Have faith that you'll find your place! 🤗🤗

Hunter_emerald07

Damn i fell bad on vanity poor girl :( and yeah she sould really really get therapy fr

Skye Stardreamer

Thank you both! It's harder than it looks... and if sure ain't look easy. But, I'm tryin. I hope both of you can say the same.

Archer

I love this character concept! She’s going to be so much fun to explore 🤩

J. N. Squire

That is *still* a blush you're trying to hide, Vanity!

Al

I can’t saying. Hope her memory will come back. I am praying for her

Peanuts

*LITERAL* imposter syndrome. Relatable

Peanuts

We are all products of our environments, her environment just happens to be other people.

Amber Ghostis

Wait does that mean shes not a fox? I'd be sad if she's not a fox

Abstract Indigo

I'd also submit that the comic itself shows Vanity has quite a few personality traits. She seems to have a sense of justice as she brings up the situation with the wolves unprompted to Keiren with no real need to mention the subject. She seems very cynical about the world, probably justifiably, yet genuinely admiring of heroism and selflessness. And when the chips are down, she saves Keiren's life, without any 'reason' and at risk to her own goals (far easier to make a clean escape if you're not dragging someone out a fire and treating their wounds, and if your only witness conveniently doesn't make it). For someone who fears there's nothing left, I think there's a lot more there than she gives herself credit for!

the mighty steve

The cutest existential horror I ever did see

Drazgon

@Abstract_Indigo Slippery slope discussing about 'non canon but in-character' material. That 'provide insight'. Literally slippery slope. It's always extrapolation, either intended or subconscious, subtle or 'exploring new side of character' , but always adding smth from the head. Positive reactions 'that suits them', 'it's so like them', 'I like her being a bit naughty'. Deviations accumulate with time and number of sketches, especially when the original doesn't appear in the comic. And community as a whole ends up with a character in their heads, born from their collective will and who has almost nothing in common with the original. Sometimes I think that people may forget who Laura was...

Roarschach

Oh. Wow. That's surprisingly dark, but nonetheless interesting, character info.

Drazgon

Do you guys believe for example, that Vanity really wears a dozen of masks on her and not one? With all their souls in her mindscape? Are you sure that was not exactly what the patron asked for, 'Vanity reveals that 'she' is just another mask'? Those who watched the stream can answer, but others can only guess. If it's true, Vanity may have not only forgot her face, but have lost her original identity, being now a collection of aspects of personalities of everyone she wears. Maybe even a hive mind.

Rook Prime

Wow, not only is there a good sign of just how deep the psychosis goes, but he also gave her a second Hexadecimal reference. She IS the mask.

Daemon Blitzkrieg

The cute character of severe Identity Depression...or should I say 2nd one 🤔 Sorry Tommy, but both Vanity & Natani must be protected; we shall work everyday until we all find out who we are, behind every mask... 🙏🏾

Tiglish

well it seems like "Be yourself" was popular and but it kind of backfired Is this canon?

Anonymous

Well that’s horrifying

Azhrei Vep

Unless those are just remnants of other masks she's worn, anyway.

patronMan50

Yeah, I wonder Reni would be unsettled by what she sees.

SCD

Vanity: We are many, you are but one!

Tim C

Well, it could always be argued that we are the products of the influences upon us. The masks would simply be a more... direct influence than usual, under this logic.

eddi_TBH

Scary even to herself.

Zaydin

Kinda reminds me of the Changeling from Warhammer Fantasy.

wjd1206

WOW! JUST... WOW!

Notimeformeta

ok, then what mask do you feel most comfortable in then?

albedoequals1

It's not going to work. We already know she's basically the Thing, and we still think she's cute.

IcyNightMedic

I love her. That is all. She is simply adorable and wants to be comfortable not showing her true form, which honestly, could be an abyssal void god for all we may know. lol

Artemis Vulpes

Hot damn, this very thing was on my mind when she was introduced. How beautifully tragic.

WhiteGlint211

Is her body fading or is it just her face coming off. I am leaning more to the later since that is what it looks like to me. But it doesn't mean I can not try to hug a blackhole. Nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it!

Thesmartfox

Don't care. I still want to know what's under those masks. I want to know her.

BritAnon

Well she's precious all the same, whether she wants to take that last mask off or not

Wild Space Saga

Aaaaaaaaaaand she's an SCP. ... Still would.

coredumperror

I really hope these Hex refs are intentional on Tom's part. That would be so cool. She was SUCH a great villain in Reboot.

JasonAW3

I suspect, Vanity is actually a human.

ijuinkun

"Be the person that best reflects your personality".

ijuinkun

I would ask her who/what she wants to be.

Kaija

Oh dayum o_o

Abstract Indigo

Azhrei/Tim - She's clearly capable of acting with a consistent set of motivations, wearing Adira's mask while actively partaking in a plot against Adira's wishes, quite possibly with Adira literally screaming in her head. That only makes any sort of sense if Vanity is acting according to Vanity's wishes (i.e. "I'm a mercenary getting paid to do this"). It would make zero sense to say "she can act against Adira's interests wearing Adira's mask", which by the logic you both are advocating should be in reverse and far harder, but "when she takes it off she becomes confused and acts like random people". Shapeshifters having an identity crisis is a common trope, but being like what you're suggesting would render someone non functional and is nonsensical. It would be pointless to hire such a person, because they'd be very likely to ruin whatever mission you're trying to achieve. And word would quickly get around and such a person would either be killed for failing, or get a rep as someone unreliable and a no hire.

Abstract Indigo

The prompt was literally "Vanity gets told to 'be yourself' by the viewer following Good Morning Vanity" which is even mentioned in the OP here, and as Tom noted in the stream it was intended as a cute romantic prompt (which the requester also commented here confirming) but he decided to expand on Vanity's character a bit. So yes, can be extremely sure on what the prompt was - it's exactly what's been said in the post.

Feligris

I must say that the concept of Vanity's character makes me excited and I'm very interested in seeing her in the comic in the future because she can be either serious or comical depending on the situation. Furthermore as plenty of people have already noted, she's in her own way a tragic and pitiable person due to the implied loss of self-identity and memories of her "actual" life, and I do feel bad for her sorrow here - however at the same time she's a villain who apparently ruthlessly imprisons others into her masks to use their likeness, and her regretful predicament is ultimately her own doing for having delved too far into this form of shapeshifing. So I suspect she'll eventually be paying for it, voluntarily or otherwise.

Kzitold

So you're saying Vanity has layers?

Kzitold

"Be the 'you' you want to be."

wjd1206

Is she though? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

wjd1206

I was actually referring to her emotional makeup. I don't even want to think about what kind of void was a side effect of the mask magic. If you hug a pole, you get nothing back, but you lose nothing. If you hug a blackhole, you get 'sucked in' and ultimately destroyed. In this case, I don't think it would be safe. I just want to explain myself and my comment, not get preachy.

wjd1206

There's a moral to her story. In fact, she points it out herself! She was in awe of Keiren because of his conviction to his values. The moral is: be yourself! Stick to what you believe, even when you're wrong, people still notice your strength. 😉😉

Jeremiah Fox

Most likely so... Perhaps the twist is: "There never was anything under that final mask, just an idea given form and desire."

Mr. Stargate

Maybe she's like Gangle? Just a ribbon under all those masks.

Feligris

True, I've had similar thoughts aka it seemed she's a cynical and weary person under the carefree exterior, and was thus genuinely touched by Keiren's attitude. Though we have to remember how Keiren mistreated Flora rather badly years ago due to succumbing to peer pressure, and then tried to play it off as not much until she told him off pretty harshly, so I think he still has growth to do in what comes to seeing Keidran as equals and I'm hoping that him being temporarily stuck as Adira might help with that!

JasonAW3

This would make a great deal of sense, as her eyes are VERY similar to Vanity's. Likely had used her masks a bit too often or long, and lost herself amongst the other person's. That would explain how she screwed up. Then again, she could be a 'Mask' herself, who lost herself over the millennia...

TantiTRI

I used to have a character with that exact same train of thought

technodragon

I'd counter "but aren't you being yourself right now? Just let it all flow naturally and be with me."

feralcat52

I suspect we all do from time to time.

feralcat52

Don't know the reference, but it's still a valid point. In answer to the question, I think sometimes the first can become the second.

feralcat52

At this point in life I don't think I'd even know how to take them all off anymore. I've just picked the one I like the best. Hopefully you can sort things and find your happy place. I'll pray that you do.

feralcat52

By the way, I really like your name!

Kzitold

If Vanity is answering questions, I have several. Can Vanity breed wearing a "face?" Is the soul of the mask immortal, or does it eventually fade?

ThePianistDragon

Whoa I wasn't expecting this from the overly-flirty fox character

Arcticfox

Remember, each one of those masks has a captive soul within it. Someone denied the agency to live out their lives.

Ariffet Orlase

Wasn't there a voice actor who had done so many voices he'd forgotten what his real voice sounded like?

Crimson Dragon

A mask worn too long becomes the face.

Tim C

Completely valid, even if that's not what I had intended to convey (that Vanity is *only* influenced by the masks), but we can go a layer deeper than that, really. Clearly Vanity was taught by someone in order to use the masks as she has been doing, so how much of it is her following orders and how much of it is her own desires? I highly doubt that it's completely one way or the other, but doubtless it's contributing to what she's feeling here.

Wyatt Banfield

Hint: It's from a kid's superhero cartoon from 2009 that got cut short to two seasons and ends on multiple cliffhangers because of Disney (and somehow the fandom hasn't died and even got a cameo in a recent movie)

Skywatcher

I don't know about any voice actor but Peter Sellers said almost the same thing to Kermit during his "Muppet Show" appearance: he's played so many different characters that he's forgotten who he really is.

Abstract Indigo

I see Vanity as a character that could go almost any direction. Though from what's been seen in the comic so far, I don't think I could classify her as a villain as such. Someone who has done evil things, absolutely (to Adira and other implied victims -- though it's yet to be clarified if she relished in it, was doing a job, or even uncomfortable doing it to innocent people), but doesn't seem Evil with a capital E. Contrast that to someone like Clovis who is unabashedly evil, caring only for power/wealth. I think the most establishing moment was when it came to Kei. An evil person would have left him for dead or just cut his throat and got out of dodge, not taken a lot of time to haul him outside, stop him bleeding out, and leaving a funny flirty message on a bandage from her bow. And as you say she seemed genuinely touched by what Kei said, which probably played a large part in her decision to save him. A lot of possibilities for the character, however Tom chooses, and I think there's a huge amount of potential and hope we see more of her in the comic (though I doubt there will be a lack of sketch requests... not that I have anything to do with that *cough*). I personally quite like the idea of a morally ambiguous but comically funny flirty trickster vixen driving Kei nuts and finding herself while he gets over his speciesism and becomes a person worthy of redeeming himself in Flora's eyes.

Kai Sörensen

There is someone left, the fact you are afraid that there could be nothing is proof of someone IS being there. Who, likely the person too afraid to be themself when you picked up the first mask. Let her out and live a little too c:

Feligris

You're right, villain is too strong of a word for her given her actions so far, she's more along the lines of a mercenary who is ruthless out of perceived necessity and does whatever is needed to finish the job, but who isn't running the show or necessarily causing any more harm than necessary. After all Natani and Zen were/are in the same boat the same as assassins but they just haven't been working against the main cast or others after the beginning, and have turned out to be rather nice people all around. Furthermore I really do want the same as what you wrote in the last paragraph, it would be glorious to see and I agree that Keiren should be allowed to eventually redeem himself to Flora in way or another.

wjd1206

Personally, I love the discussions that have evolved about Vanity as a character! I believe it's never too late to change the trajectory of your life. That being said, there's no such thing as 'necessary harm'. It's up to the individual to seek the 'win-win' situational balance so that harm isn't allowed, except in extreme self defense situations. Vanity is still lost. That's not to say she doesn't recognize good, it's just that she can't find her way to good because of the personality conflicts that come with the masks and erasing herself to achieve the perfect cover. I agree with both of you, though. I hope to see Kei continue to correct his past prejudices (as he seems to be doing) *and* that his example of caring could begin Vanity's own recovery to a single healthy individual, even if she's not who she started as. After all, growth always requires change; doesn't it?

wjd1206

Under the circumstances, kinda not funny. 🤨🤨🤨

wjd1206

What if they're worn consecutively? Multiple personalities maybe?🤔🤔

Al

remind me somewhere about use 1,000 face till can't remember what her real face and name. sad

Abstract Indigo

Funnily enough, the last panel of the most recent strip is in line with what I sorta predicted/wanted! Trolling Vanity is best Vanity. Amazing Tom!

Feligris

And hey, she told him she'll let him have Clover back, which is a nice gesture - and as has been pointed out, it doesn't seem like she's geared to impersonate him so she likely borrowed Clover just to avoid walking by herself.

TheLoreMaker

A little late for Halloween but this hits the nail on the head!

renzocomics

ja adoro los finals felices

Abstract Indigo

Out of curiosity I sent Grok the info listed on TV Tropes character page for both Keiren and Vanity (note: Grok also clearly has some other TK stuff in its data set). Since sharing the chat link is a privacy nightmare I won't, but anyone can go and feed the character page data in themselves (Grok seems to have a bit of a hard time parsing the data if you give it the URL, so just feed it the precise data you want to give it). According to Grok (paraphrasing): Keiren's story is a classic redemption-in-progress one with failures, and a long way to go. But he's growing. Being transformed into Adira is not only comedic, but a means of an ironic narrative punishment that serves as a logical means to overcome his speciesism. Shoving Vanity out the way of harm and helping find Adira show him putting his words into practice (almost at the cost of his life, with the former). The flashback when he speaks to Maeve shows him finally starting to understand how much he failed Flora, and vowing to do better. Vanity: Might be (initially) working for bad guys, but has also has done some genuinely admirable things, particularly for Keiren (i.e. saving him). Grok puts her currently as a chaotic trickster moving to a redeemable morally grey / lovable rogue archetype. Villain framing has been actively moved away from, or otherwise softened or subverted. Story arc: Logical to see more of Keiren and Vanity as a means for mutual growth for them both. Quote: "[T]he arc practically writes itself [...] A Vanity–Keiren team-up/redemption two-hander is not merely logical [... if it doesn't] it will frankly feel like a missed opportunity of staggering proportions." Also Grok seems to think Keiren and best vixen will probably hook up since it hits like a billion tropes.

wjd1206

Well, while I'm not familiar with Grok, it seems generally accurate in the start, I tend to feel the conclusions are too rote and deserve better follow through. Of course we all have an image of where this would go, our 'head-canon' is immaterial, since it's Tom's story. While I've never been disappointed by Tom, he rarely ends up with something that I imagined happening. Either way, I look forward to seeing it, and will be heartbroken when the story finally ends!

RemyHindle

Wow this makes her character a lot more tragic and scary Poor Vanity

RemyHindle

Masks amongst masks, Vanity is quite stocked with them lol Maskception! :)

Joe

Glad to hear I wasn't the only one who said it, but now we have to keep saying it! We wanna know everything about you and your personality and likes and dislikes girl. Your soul and your love and happiness. Nobody else can be you!

wjd1206

WOW! Unexpectedly tragic and angering.
