"Eldritch abomination" and "friendly" are not mutually exclusive! One is a descriptor of species type (humanoid, reptile, bird, etc.), and the other a disposition towards a subject (angry, indifferent, hostile, etc.) I never said the tentacle thing couldn't also be friendly.
