By the reactions, I'd say the bunny was female before, but not a bunny. With the chicken I can only say it wasn't always one, no idea if there was a gender change involved. The culprit for the changes is Nora the dragon. Ironic punishments are her speciality. She once turned a human man that liked to hit women into a mare. During mating season. Lucky for him, it was discovered on time and he was returned to his normal form. The Mask has different aspects this looks like the aspect of order. Sot it is not amused by the chaos Nora introduces or this were some of her pawns.
