Now I want to see this made into an actual Daki, <3

Jeremiah Fox

She as cute as always... But she looks ABSOLUTELY unhinged on the right side! 😅

RemyHindle

I don't mind her just being her but either form is good! :) She looks beautiful and I can tell this is going to be the number one color vote winner, right here lol

The Artistic Forest

I absolutely love the pose for the front. I just really appreciate the leg positions.

ThirdKind

The mask stays on 💜

Amber Ghostis

VANITY! yay another Vanity! there can never be to much Vanity!

I won’t be surprised if this will be a color vote.

Muddypaws

Make this (especially in color, and I shall definitely buy it! Natani too, or Flora !!

AgonWolfe

She looks so mischievous! I love her.

wjd1206

For some strange reason I like this crazy girl. I'm hoping she grows and straightens out as a character (and a person) as well as giving us more of her backstory.☺️☺️☺️

Anonymous1988

The only pillow where the design changes every time you look away!

J. N. Squire

Vanity scratching the sheets is… concerning. Still would or not? 😥🦊

Elanud

New merch just dropped

Hogan

Sounds like a body pillow that would turn out to be an entrapping trap! XD

Alex Xeno

The tongue is so cute xD

Golden_Pawz

I will give you 200 dollars for this as a real body pillow

Randomation

I'll take your entire stock!

Zera Wolfsung

Now, where's the NSFW version for us creeps

Camden Weck

She's been in like, Five comics, we know almost nothing about her... Sometimes a cute design is all it takes!

ArtAnimationFan

Love how expression can change from cute to “I will giggle as I wear your skin” crazy.

Abstract Indigo

Well it's another Vanity expression and she actually looks happy this time in the left hand one. That pose is quite similar to the Christmas art (not a criticism; there's only so many poses!), but the expression on her face strongly differentiates it. The right pose is a new one. Technically a slight continuity error with her left 'sock' which no doubt would would be picked up if it does get inked and coloured. I don't envy you having to factor that continuity aspect in every time you draw her Tom! [Edit: Stealth fixed now!] Personally I agree with the removal of the dialogue in the final version — it felt a bit objectifying and callous, which went against the playful tone and other characterisation. I'm not sure how serious the intent was to include it (or if it was just a stream joke or fleeting thought), but the piece works better without it. It's a very cute piece. Though it seems after all that Tom you're still drawing a character on a bed! No escape! Edit: One additional observation is that as far as I can recall, the left pose is the first time Vanity's been depicted without slit pupils. I'm not sure if that's a deliberate artistic choice or itself a minor continuity thing but interesting if intentional since there's no explanation I'm aware of yet on why she's always depicted with slit pupils. Edit 2: I've also only just noticed she has no tail ribbon. Of course in canon she gave one away to Kei so we can probably call that excellent continuity! (I know I overanalyse this stuff Tom, sorry!)

LifeWulf

I love Vanity. Her playful demeanour and her unhinged personality.

Abstract Indigo

Irredeemably evil characters don't haul others out of burning buildings and use their hair ribbons to tenderly bandage them! Everything Tom's said and drawn regarding canon points to a complex character with identity issues not "evil psycho". The potential for Vanity's character is frankly insane. Whether that's heartwarming (lifesaving tender care), humour and gremlin charm, or drama regarding her identity issues. Narrative gold that gives Tom so many options. A genius character design and introduction.

Mikhael B

She always has that intense yet mesmerizing look in her eyes which is why I can’t help but fall for her !

David Gipe

As I recall Flora has and has not had split puples. So I figure it's an artistic choice when it's depicted. As it is usually seen as a predator thing, I think it's come up with aggression or "being on the hunt".

J. Martin Laursen

Don´t be greedy, leave some for the rest of us.

Abstract Indigo

Possibly, but since something like 2015 keidran characters have only been depicted with slit pupils in specific contexts, like hunting or focusing as you say. In a neutral or happy mood they've had rounded eyes. Vanity's always been depicted with slit pupils so far even when conversing normally or when happy which makes her an outlier there. But because there's no explanation that I know of on why, only Tom could say if it was intentional or not.

Patrick Horton

Vanity, my gal! Twas only time before they had gave you a Daki of thou own.~

Snowy Haze

No tearing the sheets, bad vixen.

Jirka Suchy

I love you Vanity 😘😘

Darkest Sword

Very sexy, gorgeous, wholesome, relaxing, precious, and adorable!

Muddypaws

COLOR! COLOR !! COLOR !!!!

wjd1206

Agreed completely! I just find it ironic that the aggravating lunatic type of character (that I had so little patience for IRL) has me rooting for her in this instance. Thankfully, as a paramedic IRL, my exposure to such behavioral patients was limited, enabling me to care for them and get them to more permanent care.

wjd1206

I tend to think (with Tom's attention to detail) that it is intentional. Being on the hunt is a hyper focused state, and hypervigilance is an indication of psychiatric/psychological ailments. Maybe this is the first time we've seen her truly relaxed?! Interesting. 😉😉😉😉☺️

wjd1206

🤨🤨🤭🤭🤣🤣🤣

Vylon Delta

SHUT UP, AND TAKE MY MONEY!

Bingo Goat

guest starring Adira, of course

Alejandro Renteria

It's like she's the yang to Laura's yin. But equally as magnetic.

JasonAW3

Although I suspect that she has lost herself with all the 'masks' she's used, I still think she started as a human...

SCD

What a silly looking daki.

Halo Hybrid

She’s just an absolute cutie patootie!!! 🥰

Rook Prime

I'm sure this is gonna get a color vote. Just remember the old saying: Never parki ya daki in crazy.

Along the same lines of Clovis as "The Prince of Greed", Vanity reads as a self-given name implying an original obsession with beauty as a badge of pride. Tom's made some interesting comments on Vanity that will be fascinating to see how he integrates into canon as he develops her character. My personal speculation based on a mixture of what Tom has indicated and other hints: Vanity's current self is wildly different from her original self (non-canon identity crisis sketch, Keidira showing mask bleed effects), and that her (current) form was stolen for its beauty. Logically the most likely culprit with this idea would be a fellow fox. The racism of the setting and lifespan differential imply a human taking on a keidran form would be unlikely. Even racism between different species of keidran suggests that it's less likely a different keidran species would consider a fox the epitome of beauty. Personality traits shown so far in canon are too at odds with the evil nature of the mask magic. But if we imagine someone who played with magic they were too ignorant or arrogant about and paid the costs for, "power at a price" is a very common trope. And if we go with the idea that she wore her current form enough to become it permanently, that explains a lot of things to me. Very much looking to seeing where Tom goes with her.

The lifespan consideration is an important one, but if a human stole a fox's appearance, would she necessarily steal her lifespan too? If not, she's a human who looks like a fox, with a human's lifespan. And if so, there's another workaround: Keep stealing young faces and live forever.

Abstract Indigo

Euchre and Raine seems to provide the best comparable situation. As I understand it (but may be mistaken), in his case if he remained in his human form he could survive longer but would drop dead if he reverted back to his normal keidran form as the extra age would immediately catch up with him. My suspicion is even if the workaround you suggest was a thing and could be extended indefinitely it would cause such psychological issues that someone who did it would go completely insane, at which point you're not even surviving in any meaningful sense of the word. A human taking on a fox form with the implied permanence we see (especially with Tom's consistent 'branding' of Vanity = this vixen) doesn't really seem to make sense within the setting. As I speculated, stealing a form for beauty completely ties into the name, especially as Vanity's form is beautiful. And that would seem to suggest it was most likely another vixen who stole it. Doing so out of envy makes sense as a motivation. Plus Vanity clearly needs mana crystals to cast magic since she steals Keiren's (while Adira). If she was really a human and in a life or death situation, why not take the masks off and blast him? Unless it would give no advantage because she was never human? Who knows what Tom will come up with though!

Linxan

If she's doing that to the sheets, she's probably also doing that to the mattress ... She's pretty and all, but I have to draw a hard line at destroying my stuff, and my mattress is just this side of sacred.
