Abstract Indigo

This is an excellent sketch, honestly you can make an entire new series of Adira and Warren's world tour. It's also nice to see a slightly different take on the Lynx Kingdom. All in all, very fun. The final version came out very nicely, there's a lot of additional background detail that was added from the stream version, which was already a very strong sketch - the core execution was largely unchanged after all. Also, Addy seems to have a thing for seeing through bad acting and disguises. Not the first time! And with understated deadpan sarcasm as well.

I'll be honest and say that I've been quite fed up with the dominance of lynx Reed in these sketches, but this idea is honestly novel enough to avoid being annoying and also has much more going for it than just the fanservice provided by Adira and lynx Reed. :p On a tangent it comes off almost as if the Lynx Kingdom is akin to animals who've (fortunately) had fairly little contact with humans so far, so they're friendly and excited instead of being fearful and reserved or even outright hostile.

Not the first time indeed, even if Trace was a particularly terrible actor in his current mental state. :p Deadpan sarcasm does seem to be Adira's bread and butter, which isn't surprising because she probably has had to develop a particular sense of humour and attitude in order to run her tavern without issues since she's forced to deal with the general (human) public. I do also like how this sketch further establishes the Lynx Kingdom as a chill and friendly place even towards humans, despite or because of their apparently lack of experience with humans akin to animals who've had little human contact, I'm imagining that Lt. Reed already figured out that they're not up to anything at all but keeps saying she needs more time because of reasons. :p

Recognizable hair style, likely her walk, body language and posture, and goodness knows just how far her scent might be altered (enough to say "lynx", but possibly no further than necessary) making her have enough cues. Then there's her accent, likely - If. Lt. Reed was born and raised in and around Edinmire, she'll naturally have an Edinmire accent, which Adira would recognize instantly, considering where she is from.

I think you're onthe right track, but the anatomical changes would preclude keeping the same physical movements (think digitigrade paws and leg structure). Similarly, having a muzzle and tongue changes would certainly change speech patterns. Phrasing would remain (like colloquialisms and specific terms). What would certainly remain is base personality. As my late grandmother used to say, "The eyes are the windows to the soul." There's a lot to that particular wisdom.😉😉☺️☺️☺️

All around excellent track we're on! @Abstract Indigo, out of curiosity, I've always heard (obviously with exceptions) that nicknames or short names usually end in 'y' for males and 'ie' for females. For example 'Billy' (boy's nickname for William) and 'Billie' (my friend's nickname for Willa). Wouldn't 'Addy' be short for Adrian or something similar?

@wjd1206 - Jenny the best pirate around might disagree! As far as I can tell, there's no difference between genders. It's also worth noting that Adira uses "Addy" for herself on #862, which Warren canonically uses on #1260. But Warren uses Addie in the sketch before this, as well as the 2022 voting incentive. So I'm now headcanoning Adira constantly changing her preferred nickname spelling to keep Warren on his toes as low level trolling.

@wjd1206, I have seen a trend in the past few decades of respelling names that are considered masculine, such as Billy or Johnny, with an 'ie' or just an 'i' in place of the final 'y' to give them a different feel for a feminine person. It's hardly a rule, but it has become pretty common. I've mostly seen "Addy" used as a short form of traditionally feminine names like Adeline or Adelaide.

Nice! Like I said, there are obvious exceptions (like Jenny for Jennifer). My memory of particular pages in canon and sketch isn't that good, but based on the different spellings used, I could see Adira doing just that! Fits nicely with her sacrcastic humor! 🤣🤣🤣
