I'd dare say it's probably one of the visually/narratively coolest, though I wouldn't doubt the actual process must be painful one way or another - and the downsides of being a vampire... have got to really suck, to say the least xP

I mean, there's also psuedo-lichdom, like what Trace tried to force on Saria, as well as whatever is keeping canon Rose alive. With both of those, it's at least possible to do it ethically. With vampires, I don't think this world has the medical tech required for ethical vampires.
