Not necessarily because they can block each other out. It would only be if they merged minds (so they were loving their partners as one, kind of like when they tried capturing Sythe) during the act that it would be considered a “three-way”. And what a wierd love parallelogram that would be.

Ultimately I want Kat to be happy. Even if that would mean Kat & Clovis I would probably support it because I’m pretty sure she’d kick his ass out of the fem-hating shape it’s currently in. In summary, you put her with pretty much anyone she’d like or would eventually like her back in a way that keeps her happy and I’m down with it.

thanks for understanding, a little under 10 years ago i got harassed on tom's website just because i have trouble spelling sometimes. it actually got so bad they started locating where i was IRL(without me saying anything about my location!) and i quit even going to there to read the comic for YEARS. you can see why i reacted as i did, we're cool.

So we're shipping now. Darn. That was the one aspect of manga I was really hoping we could avoid. Well, that and the, uh, other bits characteristic of the genre that I am thankful that Thomas left out from his, such as the butchered chinglish, overexaggerated hero's journey, what-the-heck-is-a-plot, energetic girls in miniskirts standing on one foot while making a peace sign at a 45-degree angle, and, of course, the scantily-clad women with big eyes, bigger breasts, and swords longer than they are tall killing 10 enemies at once. Oh wait.

Sean, I hate to break it to you, but shipping is — and, AFAIK, has always been — a fandom thing in general. It's like you've never heard of fanfic... Also, you've clearly never bothered to find any actually good manga. "Chinglish" is a weird term to use in this context, seeming as it does to be a portmanteau of "Chinese" and "English", when manga originates from Japan...

RTKL, Tom has drawn a lot of influence from manga and anime. He doesn't generally refer to Twokinds as a "manga", from what I've seen, but the term in Japanese basically just means "comic book", so it's not a wholly inappropriate term.

No, I haven't really bothered to find any good mangas because I've been so put off by the ones I have seen. With the exception of 2kinds, which I stumbled across looking for a way to display XKCD on my KDE Plasma desktop, looked it up, and decided it looked and sounded non-Japanese enough to be considered worth a shot by my uncultured American standards. And I'm glad I did. It's a manga-esque story without all the bits of manga that drive me up a tree. And if you look at the about page, he does call it a "fantasy manga". As for "chinglish", well -- I knew manga was Japanese, but I had about 10 brain cells left when I wrote this, and... well, Japanese is closely based enough on Chinese that a monolingual Japanese man can read a newspaper in Chinese without any issues. It's clear that most English-language mangas (at least the ones I've come across) weren't written/translated by a native English speaker, is my point, and when you're really sleepy, it can be hard to tell the difference between badly-translated CHinese and badly-translated Japanese.
