Natani, is a girl who had her mind destroyed and patched up by some emergancy magic with her brothers, thus the mind link. She only saw herself as a boy because how her brother saw her and her brothers mind. Not her own doing and growing up as herself. She's a girl.

They where comfortable pretending to be a boy, in a socity that would not let them operate with their brother if they where a girl. they where also young enough that they didn't start to grow into the differences that a guy and girl really has. That's still not trans gender.
