I think the reason why Keith mother's grave is so "simple" is because of the low opinions and perspectives the Eastern basitins had towards Western basitins...

I think and hope the only reason that Keith's mother grave is so small and plain is because that is the grave given to ordinary basitins, while Keith's father was a general so he gets statue of himself.

So powerful, I think it’s important for Keith to not hold a grudge with his past if he wants to be happy again, and this is a great way to overcome that grudge.

From what I can gather he was kind of hard on Keith (though there is one panel where I think he was completely justified in yelling at Keith. Falling asleep near water is really stupid. Do you know how fast the tieds can come in? Keith could have drowned) When it comes to Keith’s banishment and the death of Cathleen, Cornelius was completely innocent. He was drinking and happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, resulting in his death.

He was an abusive father and after the "incident" of Cathleen, Cornelius assumed Keith did it and in a drunked rage tried to kill him, resulting in Cornelius's death and Keith's banishment.

What happened, y’all might re-read that courtroom section near the end of the Basitin Islands, is: Alabaster, drunk at that moment if I recall, went to Cathleen’s house because Cornelius told him that he was thinking of “running away (off island) with her” and was going to leave Keith because he wasn’t ready for a life off the island, and in anger because: “Your a filthy westerner and its all your fault he wants to leave”. Cornelius grabbed Cathleen, who rightfully indicated it isn’t decent to come at this hour (because she’s in the female district and he ain’t no Lynn), who scratched him in self defense, and he hit her over the head with the bottle, killing her. Cornelius presumably discovered the crime scene before Keith and got drunk for obvious reasons. Keith discovered the crime scene and went to his father’s house because he had no other family to go to. Because he was drunk, Cornelius’ perception was warped and he made an aggressive move towards Keith, who took a defensive stance, spear at the ready. Cornelius stumbled and fell on the spear, joining Cathleen in Valhalla (Alabaster on the other hand, and too many years too late got to go to Hellheim). Alabaster took this as the perfect opportunity to banish Keith, who as a half westerner, he naturally blamed for Cornelius’ death, denying Alaric the opportunity to tell Keith he could appeal the judgement and present evidence that would stop the banishment.

Well, in that case, the Basidian Isles can go to Hell for all I care. They let this tragedy happen and they compensated for the damage far too late. =(

...Then what about the present? Even now, there are many obstacles and threats to Keith's happiness as he now has to protect his only friend left with his life. And, despite the Basidian Isles finally admitting their role in his suffering, they continue to oppress and manipulate him to this day. What could be worse than that? =( Thus, I don't think overcoming grudges will be enough for him to regain control of his life, because it won't stop trouble coming at him in waves. He'll need to seize control and I'm rooting for him to do so.

It’s sad that Cornelius was trying to help prepare Keith so he can make it in Basitin Society, only for Alabaster to completely screw him over.

He was like a tween or in his early teens when he was banished from the islands. Also, his redemption orders were to “bring the Grand Templar” to the island, which means it isn’t that unlikely he was banished when Mary Silverlock or possibly her predecessor (the latter being less likely) was the GT.

They didn’t know Cathleen was a Westerner until Keith’s second trial because Alabaster, at Cornelius’ behest, forged papers for her (talk about Nazi germany), and never told anyone so that his best friend wouldn’t be disgraced. Her grave, as most of the other graves in the cemetery, was like this in the actual comic as well. Given the circumstantial evidence, I believe that Cornelius got the statue because he was a significant figure in Basitin society, vs Cathleen, Joe Schmo, and apparently Maddie’s dad, who aren’t/weren’t of high rank or importance to society. Kind of like how if the head of a government, or a national hero passes away, they get a state sponsored funeral, but people like yourself and I have to rely on family, or in Cathleen’s case, where you don’t have any remaining family, friends of family.

She was a "mere" Basitin, a western, so you can bet alabaster did all in his power to denied her having more than a simple tomb. Cornelius was a great general, so he had a monument in death.

There is no dark side really. As a matter of that, it's all dark. Either way, there could be hundreds or thousands in Mekkan being manipulated like how Keith was manipulated. Who's gonna set them all free?

The worst part is that Alabaster thought he was doing Cornelius a favor, but he was dead wrong. Or maybe he just wanted to keep Cornelius to himself out of jealously towards Cathleen. Either way, he's finally paid the ultimate price.

I'm not sure. Yes, Albion was a manipulative and cowardly murderer, but his son Aster didn't seem to have any ulterior motives, although he gave very bad first impressions with his stubborn play-by-the-book attitude, so I understand your frustration with him. He didn't even appear to be fazed by his father's crimes, but I wonder if that's just a facade?

When you go to the Picarto stream, there may be a line on the top of the screen telling what you need to do to connect. I believe you have to authorize the Picarto stream to run on your computer. Try that the next time you go to the stream.
