No, I think the mask made it so all humans and keidran are compatible mating partners. The pairings are probably incredibly rare (and human only partners for female keidran even rarer), and Flora got pregnant right away, so there haven't been any children yet

2026-10-08 12:00 I am curious of the use of "actually..." and what that might mean. Is that to infer that Trace/Flora's ...situation... is not limited to them? That the mask unlocked cross breeding for all and not just our main characters? Am I reading too much into this? Do I need less sugar in my diet? Should I stop typing?

Some of these Patreon pictures may not be canon to the comic, but sometimes to each other. A few older pictures had the two couples meet and talk. I'd say the 'actually' means that they know about one couple like them that have a baby on the way, so it's not impossible. Considering Trace's raw power I guess he could find a way if he learned magic again.

Technically it currently is not, because Tom has a rule against suggestions that are considered Spoilers. However, since These two aren’t exactly main characters, Tom may make it occur in comic in a few weeks/months.

If Tom does a side project for every fan request he’ll have to put the comic on hiatus until he can finish the backlog. He does have the project with <a href="https://www.patreon.com/twokinds/posts?tag=Colin">Colin</a> and <a href="https://www.patreon.com/twokinds/posts?tag=Sam">Sam</a> in the works and a canceled project with <a href="https://www.patreon.com/twokinds/posts?tag=Wrinry">Wrinry</a>. Since these two are in comic, he will likely “check in” at some point.

<b>@Darkpheonix</b> True, but while Sex is perhaps the most well known language, which she was trying to “speak” to him with in-comic, it helps to know the spoken language of your lover/target, in order to actually make it to the point of “conversing” in that universal language. Plus, does Daniels look like the kind of white boy that would have already learned how to speak Keidran fluently? (And I myself am white, so I’m not being racist. Just speakin the truth.)

Damn Masks, screwing with the laws of nature. They should put warnings on these things :P Seriously though, this is adorable, and I hope it becomes canon. As these two are minor characters, it’s possible so long as it does not mess with the main story. Though most fans will take it as canon that Ephemeral basically changed the laws of nature to make hybrids possible between ALL Keirdran and humans (possibly even Keirdran and Basitin?), not just Trace Andy Flora. It would not make sense to just make it one couple.

All it takes is a small portion of followers of a certain media using or depicting it for sexual gratification and then the majority of the public assumes that’s what all of the community’s members use/read them for. I was saying “Furry” comics in general, not TwoKinds specifically. Anime also tends to generally get a bad rap because of them Thai Hens (thinly disguising the word for anime porn). Plus, like I said, most all early cartoons only had Anthropomorphic animals. It’s just the way people, and Americans in general, work unfortunately.

I admit, I assumed that was what Ephemeral (or just mask. I was too lazy to go back and look up the name) did. That is, only bend the rules for Trace/Flora. After all, we have not seen any other couples with that... issue. I don't think this image changes cannon but it would open up a very interesting can of worms if this was Thomas' way of letting us know we are wrong and that there ARE other hybrid-expecting couples. Will have to wait and see

I actually took it the opposite, they're trying to make it so the Keidrans don't go extinct, at least, that's how I took it, and it's not going to help to just have one half breed. Besides, she got pregnant right away after the law, or whatever, was lifted, so of course they're not noticing yet. Flora barely noticed not that long ago, it feels. Now, when they get to their destination where everyone lives with one another, I forgot the name of it, that'll make it more clear, I think, because if there's going to be any other half breeds, they'll be there. ...I wonder if a human female got pregnant, would she still have a short gestation, or would it still be normal length...

In canon, no. As far as we know, Therie’s still tailing him around town, granted 1 or 2 in comic days have passed since the attack, so it’s possible. These sketches aren’t canon, neither is the color art. Only “historical moments” and Nora-carded sketches for the comic Tom didn’t do can be considered canon.

Didn't Trace mention that peaceful relations between the races are so rare that it just didn't come up often, and when it did people were inclined to try and hide it, which was easy because of a low literacy rate preventing the news from spreading? I think interbreeding was always possible, it just didn't come up often.

Neutral was preventing it from happening (due to Neutrals hostile relationship with the other Masks), but has now allowed it to allow some Keidran blood to survive the coming war. Trace and Flora were probably just the first, I'm sure others will be popping up soon enough (like this couple, and I'm sure Eric will probably end up popping at least one kid in the future given his proclivities unless he ends up with Kat, unless Neutral allows Keidran crossbreeds to be knocked up by humans too).

If i remember the pages correctly Flora's pregnancy got possible ONLY because of of the vilains Templar allowed it to exist (manipulating reality). As far as I remember it is a strickly isolated case and it wasn't applying to any other living being besides those two.

well, that is unless neutral like the semi godlike thing he/she/it is just rewrote how the world works. its not the strangest thing i seen in comics. it was never mentioned exactly how or what the spell actually did from what i remember at least, ofc i could be wrong as i was not actually able to find the page in question.

....actually i did find it, and neutral implied she would allow the human and keidran race to mix again so that some blood survives. she never mentioned that it was only going to be a single one. it might just be me, but just one heir to a race is not a whole lot to keep a race alive with as accidents happen a lot, it's interesting to note that she says again implying there have been people with mix blood before. page 206 if you want to find it for yourself

Serious: It was stated that Neutral had been PREVENTING human/keidran pregnancies for Its own reasons, but had decided to allow Flora's, again, for Its own reasons. Humorous: Therie and Flora meet, and they're each like "You too, huh?" ^_^

It's also essentially in line with Raine's background, isn't it? She's effectively half-kiedran, more or less, right? Though I suppose one could argue that like Flora & Trace's child, Raine is a special case.

Actually what happened is the Mask Ephemeral, who had been preventing humans and keidran from being compatible, decided to allow it, feeling that that was the only way to ensure that the keidran survived in some way. So I’m pretty sure ALL human/keidran relationships can “bear fruit” now, not just Trace and Flora’s.
