Patreon art is all non-canon. There's only 2.5 pairings in-canon that I can think of; Trace/Flora, Nat/Keith, and sort of Raine/Red (we know Red likes Raine, but it hasn't really gone beyond that yet). Zen is unpaired and I don't think Maddie's even met Maeve iirc

As <b>@Kanthier</b> said, the Patreon art is largely non-canon, with a handful of “Historical moments” that Tom may consider canon, such as the moment Rose was rescued, but you have to look at the comic or canon side-comics for a 100% canon answer to your questions. In addition to Kanthier’s statement about Red, I would say Raine was also being a bit teasingly flirtatious towards Sythe when he was trying to fish, prior to Zen’s knocking out of Maren and Karen. And unless Maddy went to Riftwall, yes, Maeve and Maddy have never Canonically met.

I see. Here in the U.S. it’s seen more as a kind of silly and ridiculous thing that dads commonly do, giving the boy a talk as kind of a warning to not be harmful. From what I’m aware, it’s only normally bluffing the teenage boy, without meaningful threats of harm. My parents, on the other hand took the non-threatening approach to an extreme, more or less planning legal actions against someone for something that didn’t happen because rumors made rounds about certain “occurrences”.

As late as the 1930’s and 40’s rural families imposed marriages (it was actually infrequent this way) when a young man got his date/GF pregnant. Mostly because it’s to maintain the honor of the family. Now just a good strong “understanding” (😉😉) to not violate the daughter can be enough. Me.., I’d put the fear into them.

And therein lies the problem. Becayse it, like and other forms of "purity" culture (rings, balls, father/male relative handing over the bride etc.) projected on to female sexuality is the exact same kind of proprietary misogynistic insanity used to justify middle eastern "honor" murders and opression of women. Traditional Swedish weddings has the bride and groom meeting on the church steps flanked by their maids and best men, and then proceeding up the isle side by side in a double column lead by the bride and groom. Parents and other guests waiting in the pews. And back in the early middle ages, the church steps was also the time for the bride and groom to exchange gifts, usually a garment or other personally crafted item as extravagant and well made as possible of equal worth. And though the bride's family was expected to provide the land and house of the newlyweds, it would remain the bride's property in case of divorce.
