The only thing an immortal being can do when old friends pass away, is making new friends.

Real.

James News

Too bad he went down a dark path for a while after....

CryoQuasar

Alexa this is so sad play Despacito.

Well, thank you Tom, now I can't stop crying

SCD

Nora: Saria's gone, one more round, Saria’s gone. Trace: Really, REALLY! Nora: What, it’s my favorite Johnny Cash song! Trace: ……….I hate you! Nora: I know. (Smiles)

Ordithus

A tender moment. Sad that he did not handle grief... well, to say the least. Things are better now.<br>Glad we got to explore this!

DiDiDi-X

The feelings, oh my god. ;_;

ThirdKind

Pretty heart wrenching. The look on Trace's face is spot on.

jordan

for a second i thought this was after flora passes from old age. lol, still excellent work, even without words the expressions say it all.

Todd Zircher

It almost feels like a canon moment. What if your best friend could stop the suffering that was destroying you by making you forget your past?

CrimsonQuill086

The heartbreak of this is that even as Nora attempted to comfort her friend, he was already beginning to sway to the darkness within him....

Steve Gloria

It didn't help sadly and he still went mad. :/

noxamillion

You did a fantastic job with Trace's eyes, Tom. Captures his sullen outlook.

Panther

Trace saying it when his eyes are already becoming inexpressive ............ You haven't been listened , Nora X_X

00f that is a very emotional picture. F

Kyle Cope

Such a nice dragon

Sylvrwolflol

The “all things pass” line probably didn’t help.

Dakota

The feels are real with this one...

Steve Gloria

True. Well that and she immortal and everything

Jordan Dean Ezekude

...Indeed she's watched countless mortals live and die, but she only helps them when it suits her. She knows nothing. The only thing I'm consumed by right now is distrust.

Jordan Dean Ezekude

...I don't think it was Nora who erased Lady Nora's memory. Either way, after everything I've seen throughout the comic, I'd say she's caused more suffering than she's relieved. Trace may be one of her exceptions, but...

Customaera

I wonder if Trace helped the pain pass along by attempting to resurrect Saria and eventually overthrowing Grandmaster Silverlock just to make the pain go away.

Supreme Leader Porg

This makes me wonder what Nora was thinking as Trace began his path to darkness, did she try to get him to stop, or was she just like “eh whatever”

Glitch

What, exactly, was she supposed to do? She's talking about people natural passing away.

Blake

Whats especially sad is that Nora will watch Trace die aswell, a cruel irony.

Jacob Herb

Everybody will eventually have that same felling in their life.

Reseen Dalls

It's been a long time since Tom draw real suffering on a character's face. And damn it, he knows how to do it! It may be just a sketch but I've rarely seen such expression of pure pain in drawn media.

Luckysniper2424

I didn’t read the description and I thought Nora was talking about Floria

durandle

she only help when it suits her probably to avoid attachment and loss

durandle

based on when he first used dark magic to create a dragon she either tried to dissuade him or was unaware

hippiewerewolf

Thank you for drawing this Tom. I can't quite fit into words why, but I appreciate that this picture exists.

Jordan Dean Ezekude

@Glitch Unfortunately, not everyone gets to naturally pass away. Saria, along with a few other characters, certainly didn't. And Nora left one of said characters (unnamed due to spoilers) for dead, which I refuse to forgive her for.

Jordan Dean Ezekude

@durandle I suspected as much. Regardless, dragon or not, nobody is invincible. One day, I hope all the lives she deliberately abandoned will come back to drag her down to rock bottom so that they may all rest in peace.

Jordan Dean Ezekude

2000 plus years old or not, I refuse to believe that Nora is absolutely immortal. Invincibility and immortality are only possible in the afterlife.

This is the reason I like the comic so much, while not liking furries. Tom is so incredibly good at making everything seem realistic. When I look at trace's eyes I instantly feel bad for him. The Character development is absolutely magnificent. It is like I am actually watching a set of existing people live their life in an entirely different world. The character designs themselves are also truly excellent. Body proportions are so realistic, while still keeping the fantasy style. I can and will not stress this enough but Tom, you are on another level of storytelling. Don't stop.

One last thing, I sometimes am not sure if I am reading a work of fiction or not. THAT is how goot this is.
