John Mooney

Argue with me if you want, but I think we'd all love to see her in the main AU again, like a revival or something.

...and so, every ten years, Davy Keith is allowed to leave his ship, the Flying Basitin, to spend a single night in the embrace of his love. But Laura has sworn to stay faithful and will look out for him, once the time draws close - no matter how many years have to pass...

Mingun

She is beautiful, as always.

SCD

Cool drawing, Tom.

David

The basitin foot is gone... *suspicious*

CrimsonQuill086

This is...so emotional. A picture paints a thousand words.

Jasonfax

Lay down.... Try not to cry... Cry a lot...

Panther

Always sad when i see Laura ; she was so kindly nice , but got only death and probably forgotten now X_X

noxamillion

At least she did get to see her fiance one last time.

Thisguy

Could you imagine a Seymore ending?

Aidan Trout

I know i'm late, but lemme think of something poetic.

Aidan Trout

Uhh, how about this... Her death cast her away. Not just from life, but from love, even memory too. She was forgotten. She now roams the lands of the people who were, hoping that one day, she will meet the love of her life again.

noxamillion

I do not know what a Seymore ending is? Is it related to Seymore Butts?

Katfeathers

Lovely, and puts a different spin on "Loch Lomond" what as the lovely lass has already set foot on th' low road.

TrichterNET

Tom, it's too early for feels.

Inu-Chan

Who cut the onions!?

Jordan Dean Ezekude

The beauty of this peacefully bittersweet illustration is that this could be any waiting situation at all. This could easily be anyone waiting for their lover or consort to escort them someplace.

Apostrophe(')

This might be your most beautiful drawing yet, Tom. Feelings overloaded. The Laura story arc managed to reduce me to a sobbing mess twice over.

csstats

Beautiful and heartbreaking, Laura was faithful to a fault.

Apostrophe(')

Presumably Fry's dog from Futurama. One of the only other pieces of pop culture that has drained my emotions the way the Laura death scene and subsequent ghost story arc did. It's one of the show's best episodes but you may only want to watch it once.

Ordithus

A beautiful and somber piece. Had I ever been able to acquire a Nora card myself, this was my first choice.

Supreme Leader Porg

This looks beautiful. It’s sad knowing how it turns out though.

I guess she’s also alone in the color now, since that paw isn’t on the edge in this one

Panther

Europe - the Dreamer (with some changes) She is down by the riverside Late one night She's tryin' to count the stars In each of the signs All alone by the riverside And time passes by Gathering thoughts of the past And maybe she'll cry So they say she's a mad female And she don't understand But I know that she's tryin' hard To act like a female All those years she has suffered, my friends All those years of pain But I don't think she knows for sure If those years were in vain She's a dreamer And she's fightin' for her life She's tryin' to understand She's a dreamer But she wants to carry on Yet I know she's a lonely female

Psychotic

Dude, this is really good. With the colors and the landscape, it actually makes the place look beautiful. Nice job

Thisguy

Yep, the Futurama one. The episode is Jurassic Bark.

Milantex

When I see her standing on the shore like this, I kind of hear the lyrics from Katyusha (even though Katyusha is near the river bank... but... close enough).

Timmainsson

Be grateful it wasn't the cheese ;)

Timmainsson

Tom, You made me cry my eyes out with this. I had no idea this would hit so close to home for me.

Aidan Trout

OH THAT'S A ROCKET POWERED FEELS HAMMER RIGHT TO THE CROTCH

Anonymous

The weird thing about following Tom's non-canon sketches is that Laura feels a lot more present than she actually is in the universe. I'm not convinced she is forgotten though.

noxamillion

I forgot about that episode. I need to rewatch Futurama now that I'm older to understand certain jokes, gags, and scenes.

Twokindsfan

I just listened to dreamer by Europe. I now understand how Laura fels, waiting for Keith to come back.

If I'll be honest, given the recent "revivals" we've seen in recent times of the story, we may see her return in some way like it was with Saria. I'm guessing it could follow this sequence: Saria appeared to Trace in the early story to say "I'm not your wife" to Trace, later she reveals it was her and reassures his continued journey. I'm guessing if Keith didn't fully understand the Illusion to be Laura herself, maybe she could return somehow to reassure to Keith some things. I genuinely think she'll return in like manner somehow.

Joshkebab

I have this as a preset for my background
