Yes, she's a really cool person and a great character, but I do consider her origins to be the bleakest of all the more major characters even if she hasn't endured nearly as much loss or hardship as some of the others, since she was literally bred by the humans to be an expensive custom toy/slave for rich buyers with zero concern to how she would feel about it. Even Mike technically had it less bad even if he was born into slavery. She's indeed remarkably intelligent, talented, and well-adjusted given all of that even if she does lament that she can never escape the stereotype carried by her body.

Feligris

I think one of the showcases of how bleak the Twokinds world is, is how the the Mask Ephemural didn't think she even needed to take into account the possibility of Trace and Flora deciding to be friends (and later, lovers) instead of bitter enemies, because to Ephemural it was a given that they'd both see each other as monsters and one would kill the other. And IMO the current plot is pretty much following the small band of good people who are trying to make a bad world less bad.

One spot, two spot, three spot. Please Kathrin would you stand still? I keep losing count.

Anonymous

Lol I needed this.

Miftox 01

Now who counted those spots?😂

jo holloway

seriously, i would give up freaking MARVEL MOVIES to have her.

ThirdKind

Infertile eh? Well I'm sure Zen wouldn't mind a challenge.

ThirdKind

I have a feeling that some of them are in places that we can't exactly see 😈

noxamillion

I'm very surprised Azuma sponsored a sketch that does not have Flora. Thank you regardless, Azuma, for your patronage!

InTheLionsDen

Any number of volunteers who would be willing to check the count over and over and over again.

ProudLoneWolf

The selective breeding is messed up, but it did produce one hell of a smart, beautiful woman.

MoppyPuppy

The character bio for Kat shows that she is lonely.

Travis9x

I never noticed the booty-heart before now 😸

Torbjörn Larsson

Wat, wut!? Is that "heavy top" *nude*? Or just lacking in the fur department? / New sleep routine: count spots on Spots.

DarthKeidran

So many reference sheets! Gotta Catch’em’all!

IvyReed

OMG does Kat HAVE a little heart on her butt I never noticed before! She needs to spend more time with Mike!

ProudLoneWolf

It means no fluff between the breasts like Flora or Natani.

Vindcara

Ok, so I genuinely think that Two Kinds is one of the best webcomics out there (seriously, I've been ruminating on an essay entirely about Two Kind's page composition), but the notes on this sheet reminded me about how incredibly messed up and creepy the implications of the characters backgrounds and current actions are.

noxamillion

I would not mind reading an essay on that. Go for it.

SCD

She enjoys reading, that makes her a bookworm.

durandle

it is a well written story not everything is sunshine and flowers it has a lot of dark and gritty parts even if most of them are in the backstory an lore

Reseen Dalls

It's indeed a strange phenomenon I noticed some time ago about TK. The drawings are so gorgeous and full of life, the characters we follow closely are such nice people... that we all tend to forget that this world is actually VERY crapsack, maybe more that many setting who would claim to be so much ''mature''.

ProudLoneWolf

You're all right, this world is crapsack. And in a weird way it's part of what makes the story work. Lots of humans have no qualms about enslaving Keidran, lots of Keidran have no qualms about murdering humans, the Templars ans the Basitins are both basically fascist regimes. The people we follow are bright spots who seem to agree "F*** this noise, there must be a better way." Is this mythical village they're after real? Is it even possible?

Vindcara

As Reseen mentioned, there's a sort of dissonance between most of the tone of the comic and large elements of the plot. My instincts are telling me that a sociologist would have some negative things to say about the comic... But sociology isn't my field, so I dunno.

JAB the Tab

“Have you seen yourself, heh... you got a heart on your butt!”

Arkaz Azuma

its a little weird knowing theres someone with my last name that has a Nora card...
