Can one imagine how she felt though? The only human who she could have called her friend gone...and when her master came back, he was no longer the man he used to be. From a mildly racist but overall decent Templar husband, into an omnicidal, genocidal maniac. Given all that Rose has been through, this picture really emphasises just how alone and sorrowful she is at this moment. It really is no wonder that she weeps...

I actually think the original - with the bare empty space - conveys the emotion even better than the (still powerful!) cropped version. Wow.

I always liked the idea that Trace did everything he could to keep rose around as long as possible because she is the last thing of Saria he has anymore.

It's been awhile since I've gone through and read or listened to anything on how to make good art with themes and the like, but I do remember the fact that having large, empty space like this is actually what you should do. Less is more. The empty space helps convey the feeling of loneliness. It also helps convey the feeling of not having anything anymore that rose is probably feeling right about now.

This is just heartbreaking. It’s rough when anyone dies, but when someone who has been family to you dies, especially when there was a way to prevent it, it’s something that can hurt for the rest of your life.

If we think into the lore, He massacred the wolf slavers and freed Laura simply because she reminded him of Saria (and presumably the slavers reminded him of the thief who poisoned Saria). Rose, on the other hand, had been with Saria for at least a few years prior to the latter’s marriage to Trace, as such, she may have known more about Saria than Trace did, allowing her to be a constant reminder, and giving him incentive to preserve her life at all cost.

What just popped into my head, since we’re pretty sure that Natani’s Heart’s Desire Curse brought back Laura for that short amount of time. From both Ghost Laura and Ghost Saria, the latter of whom Ephemural brought back briefly, the afterlife in TwoKinds seems to be like being in limbo, waiting for something. What if Natani performed the curse on Rose at her request upon Rose learning of Natani’s Curse’s result with Keith. It’s almost implied that Rose can read the mind as well, which means Rose might know already about Natani’s curse, it’s results, and it’s consequences. another thought, could Rose’s being weaved into the manor cause the manor to fuel the curse with no harm to rose while she remains on site?

It's unclear if Laura's ghost was real or just an illusion based on Keith's memories. To me, it seems most likely that it was an illusion. Saria's ghost does seem real, but it's hard to tell. It could be anything since the masks are like gods. (Demi-gods, I think?) Also, where is it implied that Rose can read minds?

That goes double when the person had died because of foul play rather than accident or illness.

Yeah I would imagine that if any was real it would be the saria one, but I dont think it's related to ye hearts desire, it may be something special that that masks know

I can definitely imagine that the bitterness would be double, and in a world with multiple species and subspecies, it would get more so the closer to your species/subspecies the offender is.

<b>@Maddox Phillip</b> & <b>Supreme Leader Porg</b> my reasoning for the Laura and Saria’s Ghost theory is that both of them exhibited behavior that if they were spells they shouldn’t have. E.G. Laura was emotional to leave, and looked at Natani like she was saying “Take care of him for me”, and the Saria Ghost on the other hand, at one point thanks Ephemural (whispering to herself) for the opportunity to have closure, or something to that extent.
