You have to remember, natani was always a female in body but male in mind due to the link to zen to save her life because of that spell that shattered her mind.

Much as I agree that it is speciesist, Natani as a human looks beautiful and still easily able to beat most people in a fight.

Well Tom has never really focused on the allround muscular stuff, and has limited his "ripped" appearances to abs alone. Only exception I can think of is the Basitin general.

Whenever we've seen Nat in a state of undress, he's only bothered covering his lower half (see here for an example: http://twokinds.keenspot.com/comic/971/). Thus, I would expect him to have worn the towel around his waist, like Keith, when he walked in.

I really want to see this one colored. I suspect Natani (and therefore Zen as well), in a human form like this, might have a mildly darker complexion, and Basitin like Keith converted to human form might have something like an olive complexion.

Natani is a female in cannon she hates being born a girl because she believes it makes her weak (dont quote me on that last bit but im like 70% sure thats right) So she cross dresses. Basically shes a reverse trap. Also known as Tom Boy or Drag King.

Hating weakness was one part, but the cannon is pretty clear *he* has integrated both genders with male coming up on top. He being biological female has little to do with it (except when he is in heat).

Most of the time he expresses himself as a male person, with some occasions where she lets her female side go.

It's even more complicated since we also learn that this male identification is mostly caused by the mental link and the Young-Natani Personality (She was kinda a Boyish Girl back then, and Natani's Memories was altered by the mental link and melt together Natani's already boyish personnality, with Zen vision of his sister and wish she was a male)

@maxim_v my post was about the second half of durandles comment, that Natani has associated more and more as a girl. The forcefield would definitely make Nat a human female, since that's their Keidran body as well. Also I think I went a bit over board with my comment, it's just that until now I've never really thought about how to talk about Natani as a character, I haven't really engaged with the TK community untill now. When thinking about the comic so far I've always seen them as a "she" though it'd make more sense story-wise to talk about Nat as a "he/him". Jeez, my comments so far have just been strings of though loosely related to the thing I actually want to comment.

If I remember correctly the humans came to the continent (?) with the Keidran etc by ship, meaning there humans point of origin could be entirely separate of the map Tom has given us. Maybe the first human settlers only came from one ethnic group and there are others around just out of story-telling reach. I'm no expert, but judging by the size of the map, and if I remember the travel time correctly, the part of the world shown on the map is maybe as big as, I dunno, Australia? If the planet it takes place on is as big as ours, that leaves a ton of space for other ethnicities/races/species to roam the world. (sorry for the over-the-top comment, I'm new to this)

Good points. I had actually wondered myself about the lack of human ethnic diversities in TwoKinds, and I had pretty much assumed the same as Zoopa above, that the original settlers had all come from a single nation/region. Still, that doesn't mean that keidran converted to a human equivalent wouldn't take on the appearance of a different ethnicity from the spellcaster (especially if that caster is a dragon😉).

I think it's a "force of order" thing, they are rooted in the natural unmagical order of the world, s the stronger they are, the more difficult it is to effect them with magic

It thinks it's more of just a correlation, if you are stronger, you are usually more resistance to magic, but it's not solely because you are strong, it Just is a common factor

I just figure if the neutral mask has keidran and the chaos mask has humans, then it's reasonable to believe the order mask made the basitins (my head cannon as to why they can't use magic and the negative effects of forcing it to happen) I think there'd be some sort of supernatural resistance built into them at the creation level

As we go more and more down the rabbit hole of gender rolling a character who cant figure out who they are. I just find it easier to just say split personality I know its wrong since the natani does natani things. We have no real clue what natani considers themselves. All we know is that outside of personal life natani hides the fact that there a female by saying there a guy and in the personal life untill recently we dont really heckin know because of conflicting memories to her belief of outside judgement if they found out and so on and so forth.
