After a brief, stunned silence, the crowd breaks into ecstatic cheering. Nora: "Huh. That's... not the typical reaction I get when I do that." By the next con, Nora has a booth set up selling transformation spells at different rates for varying lengths and complexities of transformations. She becomes an overnight millionaire. Her hoard, already the largest in dragonkind, is now bigger than the other top 5 combined. She uses the funds to buy an island, which she renames Noradria. For a... rather substantial... fee, con goers who opt for the permanent transformation option can also buy citizenship in Noradria, so long as they swear fealty to Nora: the Dragon Queen Who-Is-Also-Sometimes-A-Cat.

As far as I remember Tom is NOT a furry. He enjoys anthro art but does not identify as part of the furry fandom. Only reason he goes to furry cons is cuz 90% of his fanbase happens to be furries, so of course he'd go to our conventions.

I would say they are not cat or rabbit at all, but Fennec Fox. Explains a lot of things including the ears, the shortness, the immunity to poison, and the vulnerability to really cold water.

Ooh! That’s a good point. I would have to say a Lagomorph/fennec Fox cross then, because the Basitins have been described in comic as being rabbit-like, and Tom has also described them as being lagomorph and a few other animals.

One of superstitious people wearing fursuits. BTW, copy and paste this scenario into real life. The only way someone can get me into a fursuit is if it looks realistic enough that you would have to put me next to a real life Raine or Cat!Maren to pick out enough flaws to identify me as human. I just, refuse to dress in something that would make me look like a giant stuffed animal, or the mascot for the local soccer club.

Yep, and that's puts this whole magic thing to rest as to what it is. It's only magic to a planet in its medical times. But those magical devices all look very technological to me, as if this place is either mars or an exoplanet of the far future that was colonized and or terraformed. Then they were left there, with some tech only, like thsie crystals and they are being watched and influenced from above secretly by us. We also made the anthros down there and the wierd looking humans (hair colour). This looks very like technomancy and considering many absences of the ancient forms of these characters it points to the fact that they don't belong there. They even said that their history started suddenly. There's also little to volcanism there, which is vital. And the leg configuration, jump heights, tree heights and travel times were also pointing to a smaller planet. This story is secretly in the far future.

Well they are actual furries not some knock offs like the humans, haha. Anyway wouldn't they notice that even if those costumes are good that the basic design is somewhat fishy. Like the feet, and hands etc. It's like there are two types of anthros min, these being the two main ones. It also seems like they are earth now, and not on their small low gravity colony world mekkan, where there's unexplained items falsely identified as magic by the locals who dont Remember why their history just suddenly started on makkan. Future original humans did well, perfect fresh start with steroids technology wise with the so called mana they left behind. And of course raine and maren would have no idea where they are or how they got there here, not yet anyway, may even be just a simulation and not a temporary return home or even a time displacement with planet change
