There is an advantage to magically transforming people human who enter if the water is cleaned much like modern pool systems, there won’t be much fur, especially in shedding season that would get into the filtration system. We need to see a picture where Keith and Natani turn back into their furred selves and are fluffier because they are missing any and all loose fur they had.

To keep fur out of the filtration system. I imagine the system for multi-race baths is more robust so that it could handle the extra loose hair and fur.

Maybe non-humans are banned because they turn into extra-buff humans inside the bath, and ultra-fluffy furs when they return outside. There should be a "magic in use" sign outside the bath, just like the "microwave in use" signs in gas stations. Or an on-site grooming expert for floof emergencies.

From what I suspect, it appears to be a tumor that forms in a random spot in the brain. For Jade it formed out of the tissue that became her pituitary and maybe some of her hippocampus. With Madelyn it appears to have instead grown in her frontal lobe somewhere in the prefrontal cortex (this is assuming that their brains are similar in structure and function to our primate brains). The growth in Adelaide's brain caused an excess of growth hormone and testosterone (which could technically make her daughter canonically gay or bi, more on that later) thus causing her rapid growth and possibly her increased willpower, and openmindedness (it would also explain exhibitionism too if I could find a reliable source telling me that Jade is an exhibitionist, but there isn't), but I can't really confirm the mental affects. What I can confirm however are the mental affects on Madelyn. Madness is actually mad and by mad I mean she is a psychopath. She shows all of the major symptoms including superficial charm, manipulation, grandiose sense of self, pathological lying, lack of shame, shallow emotions (see page 1055-1057 of comic for example), need for stimulation, lack of empathy, impulsive nature, juvenile delinquency, unreliability, and parasitic lifestyle. This could be caused by the tumor growing in a different area of the brain than Jade such as the prefrontal cortex. I have more info if you have any more questions.
