Magic beach, dorks! Guess you'll have to find something else to bond over now. Catch ya later, losers!" *Grabs Raine and makes rude gesture as she leaves.* Red: "Man, that woman is so..." Sythe: "Frustratingly and unreasonably sexy beyond all belief? Yeah, dude. Preachin' to the pack."

Why must we hate on red? Sure, he was a racist douchbag in the beginning but he is trying to change that, and yes it may only be because he wants a relationship with raine, but if someone is willing to change their entire viewpoint on life for the sake of a relationship, then you know they truly love them...

With a few exceptions, this has been a feel good comic through and through since the very beginning. What makes you think Red's character development has been anything but genuine?

Because it looks like the story is FINALLY going to confront Trace's past. That means things are going to take a massive turn away from "feel good." Not expecting blood and gore but I am expecting the characters to smile a whole lot less.

So that invalidates a decade of character progression? Sure, he may stumble when put under pressure, maybe even regress somewhat, but that's going to happen with EVERY character. This is going to be a test for all of them, and I don't see how Red is any more likely to fail than any of the others.
