The next morning... Windstraw: "Mrrugh... Bleedin' Basitins, my poor head! Wh-wha... happened last night? Where... am I?" *Windstraw finds herself laying on a large pile of hay in what seems to be a chicken coop, judging from the large amount of terrified and fairly put-out looking chickens huddled in one corner.* Windstraw: "How'd I wind up out here? Hmm... Guess I'll go inside and ask Ameli-OOF!" *She attempts to get up, but is stopped by a large ball and chain shackled to her ankle with the label, "Magpie's Marvelous Merchandise: 'The Wife'."* Windstraw: "What the whiskers is that doing there? Amelia? Amelia!" Amelia: *Muffled cursing and shouting. Kicks open rear door of tavern, sending several parrots, crabs and a very large lizard scurrying outside into the road.* "-ET OUT! Shoo! Grrrrr... When I catch whoever left the riftwall open last night, I'm gonna hang their tail over the bar and use it as a dishrag!" Windstraw: "Uh, mornin' spots. Mind giving me a hand here?" Amelia: "Mind giving ME a hand inside? There's a half-naked fox in there calling himself the King of Basidia who claims YOU'RE his wife, and now he won't leave!" Windstraw: "Claws and paws, what DID I do last night?" Amelia: "I'll tell you what you didn't do. The dishes. Now quit playing with the livestock and come help me evict your new hubby 'the King'." Windstraw: "Mrrrph... Remind me to stick to catnip tea from now on."

Kitty! Aww. At least Windstraw is graceful even in defeat. Remember to always partake in body-size appropriate moderation, everybody. Great work as always, Tom!

STORY-COMMENT™ Some time later Amelia: “Attention all patrons. Due to the increase in visits from our smaller counterparts, we’ve implemented a change in our drinking contest.” *confused whispering within the crowd* Amelia: “beginning with next week’s ‘Shots and Steins’, we’ll be weighing each contestant. The winner of the contest will be determined based on the amount of drink per kilo of body weight.” *more confused chatter* Amelia: “Ok. If I, weighing 65 kilos could drink 5 shots before hitting the lumber, and Windstraw, weighing 10 kilos, could down 1 normal sized shot before going down, windstraw would win.” *miscellaneous chatter from crowd, including “No Kidding?” & “Last time Windstraw competed she downed an entire Stein of beer.” & “That wolf only finished 5.” & “I need to step up my drinking game or I’ll never ever win.”* One drinking contest later Amelia: And we’re down to the line. Our very own Windstraw, weighing 10.75 kilos has downed 1 and a half shots, and is very wobbly. Meanwhile, Captain Jenny, weighing 64.5 kilos, has downed 9 shots.” *excited chattering from the crowd* Adira: “Thanks to this wonderful slide calculator that Magpie came up with” we know that if either of them can drink any more they’ll be the, oh! Down they both go.” Jenny: “Hey cuz… lookin kinda *hic* girly today. *hic* 😴” Windstraw: “I’m *hic* Windstraw *hic* who’re you tall, dark and *hic* 💤 .” Adira: “Oh dear. They were both seeing things and passed out. I guess this means it’s a tie! Congratulations Captain Jenny and Windstraw, our new drinking champions!”

Ah, sweet memories of high school....

Holy hell, that's a heavy cat! My own cats weigh just under six each.

DarthKeidran

XD I knew the typical house cat weighs about 6 kg (13lbs), but Windstraw looks a bit bigger than an average housecat to me, so I was approximating accordingly. Probably should have gone closer to 8.5 for her though in retrospect. Edit: Also doesn’t help that I’m American and as such am used to units of measurements that are sub-logical.

RivCA

So am I, so conversion therapy is needed more often than not.

Alot of the weight probably comes from her cramming a brain capable of sapient thought in such a small space.
