An expedition that took us two weeks to plan, and you bring us this...party log? That is...just...absolutely-" Maddie (on the verge of tears): "I'm sorry, sir, that's all I could find! They didn't 'ave anything else to-" Lieutenant Flitherbritches: "-Fascinating! Young corporal, do you realize what you have done for us?" Maddie (Perking up a bit): "Pardon?" Lieutenant Flitherbritches: "Corporal Adelaide, this is vital intelligence! It appears that you have discovered what would have been a distasterous, nay, SCANDALOUS cultural inflitration!" Maddie: "A cultural what now?" Lieutenant Flitherbritches: "To think we were so blind as to put all our efforts in facing martial threats! But...against these...exposed ankles and d-dancing girls, even we might have no counter!" Maddie: "Umm...okaaaay?" Lieutenant Flitherbritches: "Think of it, Corporal! Dancers in the streets! Unregulated cycles! Garish paints and dresses, milkshakes spilling through our beloved bars and tainting them with this...this fever!" Maddie: "Does this mean I completed the mission, sir?" Lieutenant Flitherbritches: "You, young Adelaide, have earned yourself a promotion! Well done. You are dismissed!" Maddie (visibly relieved): "T-thank you sir! *snaps salute* F-falling out!"

Years later, Maddie is laying awake in bed, smiling softly as she watches Maeve sleep soundly beside her. Suddenly, her eyes widen. "...Oh. Oh, THAT'S what I learned!" "Hmm?" "Nothing love. Sorry for waking you." As Maeve goes back to sleep, Maddie smiles once more and snuggles closer, silently thanking the Western dancer girl that started it all.

Once in college our teacher told us she wanted us to keep notes during class. On the last week of the semester she told us to turn in our notebooks to be graded (it was not made clear in advance this was going to happen). My notebook was 100% artwork I had drawn during class. Luckily nothing NSFW cause I didn't risk that in public. She said she had no idea what to think about it, but she still gave me an A for the class.
