So, it's been a couple of years since this has been discussed, and I'm now wiser for it courtesy of my academic studies in HVAC and refrigeration. American and Canadian households do not, in fact, receive multiple phases of AC power. Instead, our homes receive one massive conduit of 240 volts of single phase AC power at 200 amperes. This is stepped down courtesy of what is called a split phase transformer. Each side of the split phase powers two different bus bars in your electrical distribution panel, which every breaker in your home connects through. Each breaker has a much lower limit of what can be carried. There are still some electrical loads and appliances that require the higher 240 volts, like your air conditioning system. Well, to get around this, we send a leg of both power buses to the air conditioning system. Remember how I said there was a split phase transformer in your house? Well, it also splits the waveform of incoming power into two distinct waves, so each leg combined looks to be in complete opposite direction from what the original wave is when you're measuring on one leg. The combination looks like 240 volts.

Hello Friend

Broccoli boy

I like how trace wears glasses a cool little bit of detail 🥸

DiDiDi-X

The fact that the Roomba's antenna is wiggling makes him so adorable.

Constantine

Don't be silly Flora. Rumu loves you. It loves everyone

JsTheWolf

its a shame her tailed isnt all poofed up

ElderScrollsMekkan

Rofl! Poor Flora, relax it's just a cleaning robot xD the worst it could do is bump into your feet lol! Trace is all like "*sigh* ... Robot scare you again, honey?"

Indigo

Here and I thought cats were known for hitching rides on roombas, like they were personal chariots.

CrRAR

...dat side table tho... xD

Broaster07

Rumus are not well loved cleaning bots. I saw another anime berate their prowess as well.

Flora: "MREH! What is that mechanical monstrocity?!" Trace: "Hmm? Oh, that? That's just my semi-autonomous mana-powered cleaning drone and personal home assistant." Flora: "Y-your... what now?" Trace: "My Robotic Seneschal. I call her Ro.Se., for short. Say hi, Ro.Se.!" Ro.Se.: "Greetings! Master does not allow pets on the furniture. Kindly remove yourself or I will be forced to engage deep cleaning protocol." Flora: "Deep WHAT?!" Ro.Se.: "Non-compliance detected. Engaging deep cleaning protocol. Deep cleaning will begin in 3... 2..." Flora: "NYAH!!!" Trace: "Stand down please, Ro.Se." Ro.Se.: "...Disengaging. Switching to detritus patrol. (Hmmph! Master Trace never lets me have any fun...)"

Roughlandin

You kept the glasses! :D Not gonna lie, casual turtleneck/ glasses, tech mogul Trace is at least 20% hotter than regular Trace. Not QUITE as cute as white tiger boi Trace, IMO. But still... snazzy business boi is snazzy. Woof! Thanks Tom! Congrats Kamonster!

It was always interesting how such a socket could hypothetically work. Yes, I know that Tom is not very good at hardware. And he drew these sockets just because it’s funny, but let's assume this is true. Tom from the USA. Therefore, we will take the USA electrical standard as a base. As far as I know, in the USA used two phases with an angle between phases of 120 degrees. The socket have 4 contacts. In this case, it would be logical to assume that here: Line 1, Neutral, Line 2 and big long ground pin. And you know. Even though this socket is just a silly joke, it can actually work and it makes sense. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/359539122496339968/831562970537787412/2021-04-13_19-08-14.png

Tom said on stream that the socket ports are same as US standard with an additional port for mana power. So that'd be neutral, hot, ground, and mana.

Broccoli boy

I saw the stream indeed he did. I couldn’t text cause my account isn’t over two weeks old 👨🏻‍🦳

Wilford B. Wolf

We need more funding for the crumbling mana architecture of this country!

Sleepyboi

Oh my gosh Trace with glasses? That just so perfectly fits him.

Went Brown

And Trace does NOT look amused. But Flora is so cuuuuuuuuuute!

Estragon

I like the paw shaped wall outlet particularly.

I'm glad others knows Rumu! I was definitely thinking that while drawing this.

I wonder if Lady Nora would ever ride on a Roomba in her cat form.

Besides, as someone who works with electricity, I can tell you you're off the mark on power phasing. Most American appliances are SINGLE phase, not two phase. They're called single phase because only one prong carries all 120 volts of juice. The other prong is a neutral, and loops back to the ground circuit at the main power connection in your home. The ground prong is just that, a route that electricity takes to the ground where it will safely dissipate its energy and heat well away from anything that could do very poorly with direct contact to electricity (like you, and every other being on Mekkan.) Meanwhile, your home is getting what is called three phase. Your breaker box is just rigged up to send equal load from each phase throughout your home. There are very few consumer appliances that actually make use of three phase power (and more's the better) but anything that uses all three phases is much more efficient when compared to its single phase counterpart. As for the third landing with the TwoKinds universe, it's probably best to go with what the creator intended. It's not three phase power (thank the Masks) but a mana tap for equipment (like the floor cleaner) that utilizes mana energy in lieu of (or perhaps in conjunction with) the modern standard of electricity.

I am not from the USA so I don't know very well the USA power standards. I have heard that the USA uses a split-phase electric power. The house has two line wires and a neutral. Regular devices are connected to line-neutral and get 120 volts. High power devices are connected to line1-line2 (no neutral) and get 240 volts.

RivCA

True. I work in commercial A/C, so we have to deal with three phase power regularly. Power is GENERATED at three phases, but it may be DELIVERED as only two phases per home. And, yes, higher powered equipment (like washers, dryers, and A/C equipment) operates with two hot legs of power, but it's still considered single phase. Also, with the way that each phase is delivered, the sine wave cancels out somewhat, so equipment is either 208 volts (two hot legs) or 230 volts (single hot leg).
