The layout of the modern trio's 2 bed, 1 bath apartment, suggested by Moxolotl!

Don't worry about Willow. She doesn't need to sleep, so she spends most of her time in the living room (aware of the irony, considering she's not alive). She sometimes feels more comfortable escaping to the tiny broom closet and enjoying the safety of its enclosed walls because it feels like being in her lamp.

TwoKinds Fanbase: You three are so cute! Is there anything about living together that you don't like? Laura: Um, well, maybe, errrrr... *finds the courage* ..... Kat's 3 am zoomies wakes us all up and costs us a lamp or sewing machine every time. Thank goodness for the thrift shop down the street. Kat: All the hair and fur keeps clogging up the drain. I don't know about her, but if It was me, I'd spend a lot of time outside, maybe under a lake or roaming a 'haunted' forest. (Graveyard? not out of the question; 😏 probably a great place to meet other wisps. )

Flora: "Hey, why does Nora always stay in Laura's room and not yours?" Kat: "Technically, it's Nora's room. She's just been letting Laura share it since the, uh... break up." Flora: "Ohhhhhhh... How has Laura been handling that, by the way?" Kat: "Well, she has terrible insomnia, she stays up all night on her computer playing games, her room is a constant mess, and she avoids large social gatherings like the mange." Flora: "So... Back to normal, then?" Kat: "Same old Laura. Though she has developed this odd tic where she starts compulsively tying knots in things whenever somebody mentions... Keith." Flora: "Oh. Uh... I'm sure that's fine." Kat: "Yeah, I figure she'll bring it up when she's ready."

Excellent work, Tom! I love the little environmental personality touches like Kat's room being neat and tidy and Laura's being a complete wreck. You even kept the layout of their rooms consistent from the first Modern AU sketches! Now THAT'S going the extra mile. XD Congrats, Moxolotl!

Seeing the stairwell reminds me that there's probably other apartments both above and below theirs. Wonder if we'll ever get to meet the neighbors? While it hasn't been used recently because of obvious reasons, my apartment building has a common area where small holiday parties are held for residents and their friends/family as a way to help everyone get to know their neighbors. Would be cool to see something like that, with Kat and Willow mingling, Laura being an awkward wallflower until she runs into someone else that's hugely into gaming, and Nora creepin' on someone she thinks is cute.

Saria and Rose also share an apartment together. Keith works for the Basitin Embassy. Natani is currently working at Squirrelmart. Adira is Nat's manager. Maeve goes to a fancy, formerly human-only private school. Zen and Raine are in college together. We've seen Mike and Evs at a club, but what they're doing other than that is unknown. Edit: We've seen Sythe riding a bike with Nibbs. He wears glasses in the Modern AU and he's possibly a teacher at Maeve's school.

don't blame me i just saw the instructions to build the darned thing and it was the most diffecult thing to build blame it on my boss engineer designer she sometimes wants looks over functions at times so me and my team had to redesign several times to work properly

Most apartments in big cities don't have their own washer/dryer. There's probably a central laundry room somewhere in the apartment complex, or hopefully there's at least one of those coin laundromats down the street.

And yet because this is a modern fantasy AU the rent is probably still cheaper than anywhere in Austin, Texas. Seriously though, this is a charming apartment. I want to try and replicate it, either in Minecraft or House Flipper (only because I don't have The Sims 4). I also love the slowly increasing solidity of the Twokinds Modern AU. If not for it being so much work for Tom to get the main comic out once monthly I'd love to see an official spin-off. If nothing else Modern AU sketches should have their own tag by now.

Luckily, in this world Elisha Graves Otis was also a wizard and developed the Televator Safety Brake spell, where if at any point during transit the magic field weakens to a dangerous degree, the rider is instantly halted and held in stasis in their current vertical position until such time as either the magic field is restored or a rope is lowered so they can climb to safety. It's perfectly safe so long as the emergency backup mana crystals are inspected and replaced regularly, though the feeling of being suspended in midair can be extremely disconcerting.

Nora is actually a multi-billionaire, owning several banking chains, a fe real-estate companies, a firm of lawyers, 2 auto companies, re-life insurance, 6 food chains, a tech company, a small publishing company, and comissions an artist in another dimension to draw her fantasy fantasy world in comic form, all under a shadow company that no one can prove she owns but everyone knows anyway.

Laura definitely strikes me as the sort who would let her laundry pile up until she finds that what she wants to wear isn't clean, and then washes it all in one big panicked binge.
