This makes me wonder what Eastern Basitins have in the way of games. Not competitions, actual games. Do they have any of their own? They don't seem to do fun very well. They might only practice games to help diplomatic relations with other species.

I imagine that they would be into strategy games like chess and go, as well as anything that has direct combat-training applications, such as darts.

I'm calling it on Keith's side. If he's playing "games," then he's going to spot the applications to modern warfare or improving things in general. For instance, pool is very physics heavy, and understanding how the balls move on the table can be applied to mechanical systems involving impact force.
