I'm guessing it's the fur; air is actually a really good insulator, so if the fur keeps the same pre-heated air near her body, and the thicker of a layer it makes, the warmer she can stay. Also, the bodily response to cold that causes extremity blood vessels to constrict to keep heat close to one's core is probably stronger in Kiedren than it is in humans, so less of a chill causes numbness faster.

Yes. All animals with winter coats shed them in the spring for the very reason you mentioned or in the case of arctic animals to allow for camouflage coloration.

with reed and the collar i do wonder how it would work with her furr getting and shedding the winter furr as she doesn't wear it during summer untill she wants to would her lynx form still have winter furr to shed and would she need to get her winter furr if she takes on the collar in winter?

I'm almost certain someone asked a variant of this question before, but what would happen if a human wearing a Keidran transformation collar, would have children with a human? Or could they have children with Keidrans as well? And how would the children turn out?
