I don't know if anyone else noticed, but if I don't miss the mark, her armor is golden. Most armors are silver in color due to them being steel; brass and bronze are both too soft to serve functionally when steel is available. That tells me this basitin is high guard.

Golden colors are typically used as embellishments for ceremonial purposes. It's also true that even though the armor may be a ceremonial gold color, it's still functional armor. Only elite guards would be given such. That means any assassin trying to tousle with the King herself will need to get through her elite guards. Their martial prowess is second only to Adelaide, thanks to the deaths of the Three Generals. And Fukata, I do acknowledge your point about gold armor. While anything is better than nothing, if anyone used gold as the armor itself, they may as well be using tin-plated dirt. Gold might actually be worse, as armor still weighs its user down. If the protection something grants isn't worth the weight to carry that protection, you're better off not using such means.
